I walked around some building, and took the call. I finished the call, and leaned against the wall.
"Fuck" I whispered and slid down the wall, squatting on my heels.
I never thought after 5 years I would be dealing with this high school/ college drama again. I hate this, I really don't want to do this on The holidays, I just want to sit back with my family drinking hot chocolate and watching old Christmas movies, not this.
I took a deep breath, and started walking back to the auditorium.
"Jade you didn't answer me" Cameron said grabbing my wrist.
I looked at her then turned to Reed behind her.
"I- I can't right now Cameron" I said, and she grabbed me waist.
Her touch was so warming, and conforming, I loved her touch.
"Please it's okay if you say no, I just want to let it go to Jade."
"I-I... Cameron, I just" I couldn't even finish my sentence before breaking down
I took her hand off of me, and I could hear Reed and Cameron talking as I walked off. I got into my car, and full on let it out.
Two days later...
It was Christmas Eve, and I was getting ready for a Christmas Eve party.
I was putting on a beautiful red yarn off the shoulder dress, and some fluffy socks since it was at our house when I heard the doorbell ring. I waited for someone to open it, but no one did, so I ran down swiftly and slid on the marble floor nearly slipping as I opened the door.
I opened it, and dropped my brush when I saw Reed.
"Hey Jade" she said, and gave me a hug
I placed my hand on her waist, and let it fall back as she moved back
"What are you doing here?" I asked
"I'm here for the party"
"That doesn't start in like 2 hours" I said looking up at her
"Yeah I know but your mom asked me to come earlier to help out with cooking and cleaning."
"Oh come in" I said, and walk her up to my moms room.
She was just curling her hair in her vanity
"Hey Reed! But I'm not ready just yet give my 30 minutes" my mom said excusing herself
I lead Reed to my room, and she said on my bed as I continued getting ready.
"Your room really hasn't changed huh?" She said picking up a picture of her and I on my side table
"Yeah I barely come here anymore" I said finishing off my look with lipgloss, and mascara
"Aw I remember taking this we went on that date at the restaurant down the street"
"And then we never got our food" I followed with laughing and getting up. "Let me see, I think I have more" I said walking to my closet, and taking out a box
I opened it as I went over to Reed, and sat next to her.
"Here look at this one, your looked so scared" I said, and we continued to laugh as we looked at more photos
We were interrupted as I heard my mom knock on the door.
"Hey guys, ima head to the store out of town real quick, can you guys start making the cookies. Also there's a lot so use both ovens cook them fast." My mom said and blew a kiss before leaving
