People started coming in left and right, and I was occupied greeting them. Then I saw Cameron and her family.
I gave her and her family (mom, dad, and brother) a hug just for the sake of the atmosphere.
There were kids running around, in the basement, then my room, and snacking on the treats. There were people catching up, and others watching movies. It was the perfect way to spend Christmas Eve.
I felt Reed place her hand on my back as Cameron approached me.
"Can we talk... alone?" She asked in a low voice
"No not today" I replied
"Please Jade, just a while"
I sighed and nodded leading Cameron to the backyard, leaving Reed with my family.
"About the other night... have you thought about it."
"Cameron I really don't want to think about that today I'm trying to just have a fun time."
"I know Jade I just want you to give me a yes or no."
"Cameron-"
"Please Jade"
"It's Christmas Eve, let's have fun and-"
"Jade just answer the question"
"No! Cameron okay no! I don't want to get back with you if that's all you wanted to hear, it's no."
"Why"
"Because, you said it yourself. We're better off as friends."
"I didn't mean that Jade! It was a heat of the moment thing"
"So the heat of the moment thing made you sleep with your ex? Right?"
"Jade that was a slip up, not truthful-"
"Do you know how much that hurt me? I walked in on you and her, all she was in was a bra! No, I don't want to go through that again"
"You won't Jade, I was stressed and tired."
"Cameron, being stressed and tired isn't a valid excuse for cheating on your partner."
"I'm sorry Jade, just please forgive me, I'll make it right this time." She said grabbing my shoulders
I looked at her, and we felt the snow falling on our bodies in the cold
"I'm sorry Cameron, the most we can be is friends. Let's get inside before we catch a cold."
She let out a breath, and opened the door for me. I smiled, and walked in to the warm house, and patted the snow off of me.
"Hey Jade you okay?" I heard Reed ask me as I put my coat on the coatrack.
"Better than I'll ever be" I replied, and we walked into the kitchen.
A hour later now having dinner...
"And then she decided to piss her pants at school In front of her crush." Nick finished off my embarrassing story
"Oh shut up nick people don't want to know about how I pissed at school." I said covering my face
"I do" reed said looking over at nick
"Yeah so that's when she found out she liked girls, and pissed because of it." Nick said while everyone laughed
"Was she at least hot thought?" Reed asked turning to me
"She looked like a 14 year old Michelle Rodriguez of course she was" I said and took a bite of ham
