Chapter 5

A month had passed and I had gotten an apartment, gotten a job back at the hospital and in school to get my nursing degree. Everything was going great and Connor and I had gotten close. Dad and I wasn't speaking much still but it only had been a month and I knew it was going to take time. I hadn't herd from Ray since I changed phones and number, I finally felt at ease. My life  was finally goin the way it was supposed to.

It was time for me to get up and get ready for work. I grabbed my clothes and started to get dressed. I had classes today and so I was going to work for half a day. I grabbed my purse and phone and went to work. I parked in my spot I got out and seen Will and Natalie getting out of the car. I smile as they kissed and She left first and then he was about to make his way in when he saw me. "So, when did that happen?" I aske with a huge smile on my face and he turned red. He rolled his eyes and we both walked into the hospital. I walked in the doctor's lounge with Will and seen Nat. "Good morning." I said smiling. "She knows." Will said rolling his eyes again. "I'll keep it a secret until you guys are ready to tell everyone." I said taking a seat. "Nat smiled and came over to me. "Yes you will, Because I will tell everyone about you and Dr. Rhodes." She said with a smile and a winked.

I didn't realized she knew and I felt myself turn red, they both laughed. "You coming tonight?" I asked her as she took a seat beside me. "Yeah Maggie and I are riding together and I think April is meeting us there." the door opened and Dr. Rhodes walked in. We both smiled at each other. Nat rocked next to me and hit my shoulder lightly. "What's goin to tonight." Will asked confused. "Girls night." I said. Maggie walked in as I was getting up and ready to walk out. Dr. Rhodes, Dr. Manning your up." They got there things and Connor walked over to me after Will and Nat left. "See you during lunch?" I kissed him on the cheek and said "See you at lunch." I left the room and Maggie and April was at the desk with a smile on their faces. I smiled back and walked to the elevator to my floor.

"Good morning Ms. Goodwin." She smiled as we past. "How your father doing?" She asked. "Honestly, I'm not sure. We haven't really talked but Will and Jay say he is getting better." I hated that I hadn't seen him but that is what he wanted and I am willing to take it slow with him. "Glad he's doing better." She said with a smile. I walked past her once we were finished talking. I went to my desk and pulled up a few cases that I needed to work on for today.

After three hours of doing my work I decided it was time to go get lunch. After that I would be leaving for school. I grabbed my things and locked up my office ,and headed for the elevator. " Hello Ms. Lily." I looked behind me and see Dr. Charles and Dr. Reese " Glad to see you back Dr. Reese." I said giving her a smile. She had turn down a position but decided to come back and work with Dr. Charles. We all stepped into the elevator. "So you have classes today Ms. Lily?" I looked at Dr. Charles "Yes, Just goin to get some lunch then going to school." We all got off the elevator and walked to the cafeteria together.

Dr. Reese and I had gotten close over a few months. She kind a reminded me of myself, who I was before I left. But that all changed when I met Ray. "Lily." I looked at Sarah and smiled. "Sorry what?" She gave me a worried look. "What's going on Lily?" I wasn't ready to tell anyone yet so I lied. " Nothing Sarah I promise." I faked a smile and started talking about school. We got off the elevator and to the Cafeteria. Sarah walked over with me as we were talking. "Hey." I looked up and See Dr. Rhodes. "Hey." I said with a smile. "How's school going?" He asks taking a seat in front of me and beside Sarah. "It's going I guess. Going today after lunch." We all started talking then Will comes and takes a seat beside be and Connor starts to look a little nervous. I smile at his reaction. "Hey Lily," I took a bite of my food and nod at him.

We all joked about stuff and talked about silly things and for a second I felt like I was in high school. And the past didn't happened I felt safe. I looked at the clock and seen it was time for to head out. "Ok, I have to head out. I see you all later." I grabbed my things and head out. I was about to get on the elevator when I felt a hand on my shoulder then Connor speak. "Lily, Wait." I turnaround and smiled at him. "All ready miss me." He started to blush and it was cute. "Lets do dinner tonight." I smiled and said ok. "My place." He said at the end and before I could say anything he walked away. "I haven't been to his place yet. We only hanged out at the bar or just done lunch here. I was officially nervous.
