Chapter 21

Connor sat back once I had finished telling him everything. From when I met Ray, leaving home, what happened during that time and when I got back. It took me a good minute and another to let him process everything. I started to over think, maybe I said to much? That I told him to much and it was to soon. He finally looks up and pulls me into a hug. "Why won't you tell anyone? Jay needs to know or at least Adam." I pulled my hands away and stood up. "I can't, I don't know what would happen if he finds out cops know. Just me telling you puts you in danger." I started pacing back and forth just the thought of him getting hurt because of me. Connor stood up in front of me. "Im glad you told me. You needed to let someone know. And I'm glad it was me."

Once we finished talking a few hours had past we decided to go to bed. I walked to my room, I turn around to see Connor go to his. I turn back around and head into mine. I close the door and get ready for bed. I put my tank top on and some shorts then climb into bed. I felt more at easy that he knows. I put some music on and put my AirPods in. And drifted to sleep.

I woke up to the smell of food. "It only 6." I said to myself wishing I could go back to bed. I got out of bed and and walked to the door. I heard talking and it was Connor but I don't know who the other voice was,and they were arguing. I slowly made my way out and then stopped as I say them. "Lily." Connor looked at me and I looked at them both. "Remember what I said Connor. We are not finished." The guy looked at me and then left. I looked back at Connor. "What was that all about?" Connor went back to cooking. "My father." Was the only thing he said. I understood, and didn't ask anything else of it. "You hungry? I was going to surprise you." I smiled and then sat "yes." He smiled and made me a plate. "What time do you have to go back to work?" I took a bite then said 9. He sat across from me and ate his food. "You have to go in as well?" He took a bite and then smiled. "Nope." Making the P pop.

I walked out of my room finished getting dressed. I grabbed my shoes and walked to the couch where Connor was reading a book. I walked behind him and kissed his head. "See you later." I felt him grab my arm and pulled me back. I dropped my shoes and we met kissing. He placed his hands on my back going down to the lower to my lower back. I run my fingers through his hair and down his back. He turns me around and lays me on the couch. "I have to go I'll be late." In between kisses. Some of his hair falls on my face. "Ten minutes late not the big of a deal." We laugh and he takes my shirt off and then his.

I grab my shoes as I was fixing my shirt. "See you tonight." I turn around to see Connor with a huge grin on his face and a messy hair. I picked up a rag and through it at him. I smiled as it landed on his face. I closed the door behind me and left the building to head to work. I started to smile thinking about Connor and how different our relationship was to my last. I laughed about this morning and feeling calm at his reaction to me telling him the truth.

I parked my car and start walking to the hospital, today was my last day working in the office and tomorrow I can start my nursing position.
