Chapter 29

A month had past since my father's passing. Jay and Will were still fighting about letting dad go. I understood but that was because I worked in medical. I start back doing surgery with Dr.Latham today. I was still seeing Dr.Charles but haven't told him everything with Ray. Luckily he hadn't tried to reach me in a few weeks. Connor and I have changed the appointment to more of my touch. I got to redecorate a few rooms and then kitchen. But I agreed to keep the living room the way Connor had it. We were good, our relationship was thriving.

I walked out of my and Connor's room. Connor was sitting at the table with his sister Claire. "Morning." I said smiling. Its been a moment since I have seen Claire. I walked over to the kitchen to grab me a cup of coffee. "I herd about your father Lily. I'm so sorry." I gave a small smile thanking her. "Connor has been helping me." I walked over to Connor and kissed his cheek. "I have to get dress." I grabbed my scrubs and put them on. I pulled my hair into a messy bun. I walked out and Connor and Claire were still talking. "So do you want to get lunch today with Claire and I?" I walked over to get my shoes on. "Sure just come get me." He agreed and I walked over to kiss him and left for work. "Bye Claire see you guys later."

I get to work and head to my floor. Dr.Latham had a couple of surgeries today. I walked to the nurses station and placed my bag down and went to get my things and check on some patients and get my first patient ready for surgery. Some of the nurses were already in the room and getting the patient prepped. "Morning Lily." I smiled at the other nurses and help get the patient ready. I walked into the surgical room and seen Connor walk in with Dr.Latham. "Hey we are going an emergency surgery. We need to take this patient back, and change the set up." Our lead nurse said. I started changing instruments and two of the nurses took the patient back.

Connor walked out and I helped him get set up while the lead nurse helped Dr.Latham.  I walked over to my tray and got it ready. The surgery was going great, we were close to the end and we all started counting instruments. Dr.Latham and Connor walked out and the lead Nurse started closing up the patient. I walked out of the surgery room and went to the nurses station. "You ready for lunch?" Connor asks walking behind me. "Yes I'm starving." I smiled "you should've eaten this morning." I grabbed my purses and throw my arms around Connor "I know but wasn't hungry now....I'm starving"

We walked into the restaurant and see Claire waiting for us. "Hey" she said standing up giving us both a hug. We talked until our food came out. "Can I have a glass of white wine." I asked the waiter as he was bring our food. "Lily, so how is it working with your brother and boyfriend?" I laughed because it definitely was weird hear that. "It's really not all bad. I mean I don't really see either one of them. I mean I don't really work much with Connor and my brother." I see Connor's demeanor changer and I look over my shoulder. It was his father.

Claire got up and walked over to her dad and hugged him. "Hello Connor." He said "oh, Lily right?" I smiled and shakes his hand. "Yes, it's nice finally meeting you." He smiled back. "Same I was hoping my son would introduce us at some point but I guess i have to come meet you myself" I smiled and Claire went to speak to her dad. "Sorry I didn't know he was coming. This is so like Claire." Connor was definitely upset. "Connor it's ok." I said taking his hand.

We finished or lunch and then left. "I just got a text saying Dr.Latham surgery got pushed to tomorrow want to go back home?" I said putting my phone away. We walked back to his car and we drove off. We get back home and I see Jay standing at the door. "We need to talk." I looked at Connor and we all walk to the building and go in. We walk in the living room and sit on the couch. "Lily we found out who attacked you."
