Chapter 25

I pull into my parking lot and grab my things. The ED was packed as I walk in. "Hey Lily." Maggie said I smiled walking to the elevator. I pushed the up button and waited for the doors to open. I step in and pushed the button to go to the surgery floor. The head nurse was at the station and smiled when I walked up. "Good morning Lily." I smiled back and placed my things under the desk. "Hey Ms. Goodwin wants to see you in her office." My heart fell when she said that. I knew I hadn't started talking to someone and I wonder if anyone else has said anything.

I walked to Ms. Goodwin office. I herd a few people talking and stopped when I open the door. "Lily, come on in." She said . I see Dr.Latham, Dr.Charles and Connor. "What's going on?" I asked nervous walking into the room. "Lily, it has come to our attention that you haven't done the one thing I asked for you to start working." I looked over at Connor and then back to Ms.Goodwin. "Like I told you I don't need to talk to anyone, I'm fine." I step closer and then see Dr.Charles step forward.

"Lily, we've noticed a few things, lately your every jumpy, you've been forgetting thing in surgery also you don't seem all here most of the time." Dr.Latham said looking at me then to the others. "Lily, we need to know are you talking with someone?" I wanted to say yes but that will lead to question I can't answer. But I don't want to say no because that means I have to leave surgery again. "Lily, just." I stopped Connor from finishing his sentence because he was about say what I told him in confidence. "No, I haven't."

Mis Good win looked down and then looked at Dr.Charles. "I want you in the ED for the next few months. You will also be seeing Se.Charles twice a week. Or more if he thinks that is best. Then you will report back to me every week. Then when we all feel comfortable that you are doing better then you can go back to Dr.Latham service." I could believe what was happening. "My office today before you leave Lily." Dr.Charles said and left, Dr.Latham left behind him. I looked at Connor and then Ms.Goodwin. I felt defeated and like something that could brake if dropped. "Lily, if there is anything, if you can't say something to Dr.Charles then come to me my door is always open."

I walked out of the office with Connor standing beside me. Why didn't you give me a heads up? I felt attacked Connor." He took my hand and pulled be back to him. "Jay told Will what happened and Will told me. We're just trying to help. I know you don't want to tell but if you do you could feel better and they." I pulled my hand away from Connor "you know I can't." I turn around and walked away. He was right but Ray could and will hurt them. I walked to the elevator and got in and headed to the surgical floor to grab my things.

I walked to the ED and placed my things at the nurses station. "Hey Maggie." She walked over to me and hugged me "if you need anything I'm here." I smiled and thanked her. Dr.Choi incoming Lily your up. Room 3!" The paramedics came in with a young woman seizing. "On my count of 3. 1.2.3." We put the patient in the bed and I started a IV. Dr.Choi asked for a few work ups and to give her some pain medication. "We'll be back one the rest come back." We both walked out as I was putting in the orders.

After an hour had passed the patients test came back and Dr.Choi was informing the patient what needs to be done. I walked up to the nurses station and it was time to go see Dr.Charles. "See you tomorrow Lily." Maggie said as I was leaving. Connor was in the doctors lounge and came out once he noticed me. "Connor how much do I tell him?" I was nervous something that shouldn't be said will be. " trust your gut, if you think it should be said then say it." We got on the elevator and Connor pushed the floor button then the doors closed. "Do you want me to come with or wait for you?" I looked at Connor and placed my hand in his. " can you wait for me?" He smiled and kissed my head. "A corse." We get to the door and I walked in and see Dr.Charles sitting in his chair. "Come on in Lily."

I walked to the couch and sat across from him. "Listen there is nothing to talk about. This is just wasting your time." He sat back and looked at me. "There is so much we can talk out. The weather, work today, home life, or you can just say nothing or what ever is on your mind." I looked at the clock and realized this 45 minute meeting is going to be a long one.
