chapter 13 {a familiar face}

you woke up, you've felt fingers trace over the scars on your back. "good morning gorgeous" Steve said softly noticing you were awake. "good morning" you said, feeling his touch. it was silent for a while, than Steve spoke. "did it become easier, you know being there" you realized he was talking about the time at hydra. "not really" you answered "I just became more used to it i guess, but even then you never knew what to expect, what mood they were in or what new things they wanted to try". you said softly. "I swear it i ever come across another hydra agent i'm going to kill every last one of them". "as long as you leave some for me" you said to him turning around looking into his eyes. you kissed him and snuggled up to him falling back asleep again, feeling safe in his arms.

*steve's pov*

you looked at her as she fell back asleep. she's been through hell, you thought, being angry at the people who did this to such a sweet person. you slowly got out of bed careful not to wake y/n up. you left a note on your pillow for her if she would wake up. you changed into your running clothes and left the room, needing some fresh air. you took one more look at y/n sleeping, she looked so peaceful now. you silently closed the door and walked down stairs. you walked to the kitchen to grab a granola bar, when you saw a familiar face. "Bucky!" you said giving him a firm hug "hey Steve" he said back "going for a run?". "care to join" you asked him. "sure, why not" he replied.

you ran for half an hour when you decided to sit on a bench to rest and catch up with your friend. "so what's been going on here?" Bucky asked you. "a lot actually" you replied. "we rescued a girl from another hydra base and took her back to the compound, she's amazing" you say blushing a little thinking about y/n. Bucky clearly noticed something was going on. "you're crushing on this girl, don't you?" he asked grinning at you. "yes" you said blushing "I really like her". "but what have you've been up to" you asked Bucky, changing the subject. "you know figuring my mind out, I remembered something from my time at hydra and i needed some time to figure it all out" Bucky said. "that bad?" you asked him. "well i'm okay now, I'm thinking way clearer now, and i haven't had a nightmare in a while so" he said looking to his hands "that's good" you said back. "and you've had a haircut i see" you said smiling at him "it looks good buck". "thanks, it was much needed" he said smiling back at you. it was so nice having your best friend back at home, Nat was a great friend and y/n was amazing too but just heaving your best friend by your side again felt great. "so what have you been up to with this girl" Bucky asked you. "we just went on a date and shared some kisses" you told him. "NO WAY!" Bucky screamed punching your shoulder "Steve rogers asked a girl on a date!" he said smiling at you "I need to meet this girl now" he said grinning at you, curious which girl made you have the balls to actually ask her out, which was something you've never done before in your life. "it isn't anything serious yet buck". "well it sounds pretty serious to me" he said standing up ready to meet this girl. "just go easy on her, she can be a bit shy" you said blushing. "of course Steve, or are you just scared i want her for myself" he joked, which made you smile because it reminded you a lot of the old Bucky back in the 40's. "let's go" he said racing you to the compound.

*your pov*

you woke up again, you wanted to hug Steve but he was gone. you saw a note laying on his pillow [I'm out for a run, see you downstairs i'll make you pancakes]. he was so sweet, you thought to yourself as you stood up out of bed and took a shower. you felt a 100 times better than yesterday. you really began to have feelings for Steve. you dried yourself off, you put on a shirt of Steve which was way too big for you. you put on some make-up put your hair in a messy bun and walked towards the kitchen, already hearing people talk. "hey kid" tony said as you walked into the kitchen. "good morning" Natasha said walking by you. "hey gorgeous" Steve said smiling to you. Steve sat on the table, a man you've not seen before sat on the other side of the table his back facing you. "y/n i want you to meet my best friend Bucky" Steve said while the man turned around. your eyes grew big and you felt rage build up in you. "Y/N?" the man said shocked and before he knew it you pushed him from his chair and pushing him against the wall, choking him. "y/n it's me" he said clearly having trouble breathing. "y/n let him go" Steve said confused and shocked at what was happening. you couldn't hear anything you were blinded with rage, the only thing on your mind was to kill the winter soldier. Steve came rushing to you trying to get you off of his friend, but you pushed him away with ease. everyone began screaming at you to let him go, trying to get you off of the man, but you pushed them all of you with ease. you saw the soldier's eyes starting to close "I'm....sorry...y/n" he whispered. before you knew it you felt a sting in your neck and you passed out.
