I felt tired and sore. What happened to me? I attempt to reach up to touch my head, to rub the pain away. Where was my dog?
I shook his head and slowly tried to sit up. I let my eyes flutter open and winced at the bright light in my eyes. A fox hybrid stood over me, his eyes wide.
"Steve, you're awake?" He asked in surprise. I flinched a little as I had no idea who he was and had zero clue where I was.
No way was this a hospital. I looked around weakly I was in a hospital type room I guess. Multiple gurneys were around but I was the only person other than the hybrid.
"Uh, who are you?" I asked. He whirled around with wide eyes, shock obviously taking over.
"You don't know who I am? I'm Fundy!" He said, as if that was supposed to help me. What a weird name too.
"No. Actually, I don't remember anything really. Where's little foot?" I asked, referring to my dog. Fundy stared at me as if I had two heads.
"You mean the dog? The one you put up for adoption when you joined the corporation?" He asked. He was obviously still in shock about me not remembering anything.
"What corporation and why the hell would I put my dog up for adoption?" I snapped. I tried to stand up but found myself swaying and collapsed back onto my bed.
"You had to. You couldn't bring him onto the Skeld-" he started to say but I cut him off, despite how rude it was.
"The fuck is a Skeld? And what the hell type of name is Fundy?" I snapped. His ears pinned back but in a sad way, I felt bad but didn't apologize.
"Tina, I think we have an issue here," he said, tapping his ear. I realized he had a comm in and he was talking to someone else. A Tina.
A female walked in with a orange suit on. The same one that the fox wore. She stared at me for a second before talking to Fundy.
I guessed this was Tina. I didn't say anything as I was slightly scared and tense. Who were these people and why were they here with me?
They left the room and I heard a scoff from behind me.
"Wow. He's doing a great job isn't he? Meh, he's lucky he's cute," Said the man. He had brown fluffy hair and brown eyes. A pink suit much similar to the one that the other two wore was hugging his figure. He was short no doubt. A pink helmet clipped to his belt.
"I-who are you?" I asked, I wasn't aware someone else had been in the room with me. He tilted his head and walked closer
"Me? Why I'm 5up silly! It's good to see you Steve," he said. He talked as if we were friends. Maybe we had been.
"I-do I know you?" I finally asked. A bright smile crossed his face as he sat down next to me.
"Well duh, or else I wouldn't be here right now!" He said, as if I had known him my entire life. I frowned in major confusion.
"But I-" I started to say. A man in brown came in and gave me a confused look.
"Steve? Who are you talking to?"
"I-" I was about point to the man called 5up only to realize he had vanished. I shook my head. "Nobody. Who are you?"
"I'm Peter. Come on. I'll explain what happened to you," he said and helped me up. He was strong I had to admit but he was still shorter than me. No doubt about it.
Not many people were taller than me, so it honestly gave me no surprise.
He started into a story as we walked down a hallway. He explained about my crew, a crash, and how I was the only one alive.
"So my memories?" I asked, but I already knew the answer. And I didn't like it
"Gone. Tina, the head medic here, assumes you'll get them back. But of course there's no promises,"
"What about my dog? I really gave him up for adoption?" I asked, I gave my little foot away?
"You did. But we found him. We sent a duo out to go get him for you," Peter explained. He seemed like a sweet guy and I hated the fact that I had no memories. Peter signaled to a room.
"What?" I asked in confusion. I guess he wanted me to go in but I wasn't so sure. He nodded to me.
"Hey. I'll be out here. That's the office. Toast is in there," he said. I gave him an off look and he returned an amused smile
"Toast? A cooked piece of bread?" I asked him. I knew he was trolling. He had to be.
"No. The leader here on Mira. Go on," he said and nudged me. I entered the room and the doors closed behind me.
A man in a cyan suit stood against the wall. He looked at me and a small smile crossed his face.
"Steve. Glad to see you awake. I assume Peter explained everything?" He asked me. I nodded slightly and shifted my weight. "Hey, relax a little. You'll get your memories back,"
"And if I don't?" I asked him. He shrugged and a small sigh escaped his lips.
"Then you don't. We think you will. Peter will show you to your room. Hopefully the team with little foot will be back soon. Get some rest," Toast ordered. I nodded and left the room.
Peter led me down a hallway or two in silence until we arrived at at a room.
"Here you are. Get some sleep Steve. There's clothes in the closet," he said and walked away. I shut my door and stood in silence.
I don't know why but I guess I was waiting for the pink man to show back up. When it became apparent he wasn't going to I gave up and collapsed onto the bed
Sup bitches. Time to bawl your eyes out. This was the original idea that I miss them every day came from so expect a lot of similarities but a totally different direction. I think
