Gizi Hightower Part 8

Professor McGonagall started handing the new time tables out for this year. When she handed out Luzia and Penelope's time table both girls grabbed it from her quickly and read what their lessons were.

"Yay, it looks like we got Muggle Studies and Care of Magical Creatures." Penelope told her as they compared each others time tables. "And it looks like we are in the same classes as each other too, out time table is identical."

"Hmm, we have Potions first again."

"Damn it, 3 years in a row we have Potions first lesson on our first day."

"Hmm, I wonder who will be teaching us-"

"Children!" Professor McGonagall interrupted all of the children who were talking in the Great Hall. "Once you are finished with your food and you have received your time tables, you may go to lesson. Everyone apart from Penelope and Luzia Grindelwald."

Penelope and Luzia stared at each other as the rest of the Great Hall stood up and left. A few people gave the girls dirty looks as if they had done something naughty to make them get kept behind.

Professor McGonagall walked over to the girls and sat opposite them. "Girls, Professor Villarreal and I think it would be best if you two have the day off." 

"Why?" Asked Luzia.

"To deal with some of the grief."

Luzia rolled her eyes.

"Fine, can you just tell me something, please?" Penelope asked.

"Yes Penelope."

"Will Professor Ittle be teaching us this year?"

"Yes, you'll have basicaaly the same teachers as last year except for a few exceptions."

"Great, thank you."

"Who will be out new Potions teacher?" Luzia asked.

Professor McGonagall took a deep breath, "We have no Potions teachers. You will have cover teachers teaching you for now, until we can find someone new-"

"But Professor Villarreal is back."

"Yes, but he also supposed to be dead. We need to work out how he survived before anything else. May I remind you, Luzia that Professor Villarreal did in fact resign from his post last year. He has no reason to work here at all if he doesn't want to."

"Fine. What should we do now?"

"You two should probably either go back to your common rooms or go to the library and research your new lessons."

Professor McGonagall then got up and left.

"I don't want to do work." Penelope said.

"Me either, let's go for a walk around the grounds."

Luzia got up and Penelope followed her. The corridors were empty and even the paintings were busy doing stuff. The castle looked darker than normal.

"Why is it so dark in here?" Luzia thought out loud.

"I don't know, you'd think it would be lighter as it's still summer."

"Hmm. Let's go outside."

The girls went through a door and walked across a bridge.
