What Happened To Richard? Part 9

"I know that I was visited by Delphini and she killed me, but failed. It seems she forgot that I was a vampire and I couldn't be killed just by a spell."

"Why? Are vampires super humans?"

"Kind of, but to kill a vampire you need either to stab them in the heart with a wooden stake or give them Vervain which will cause us to burn and die."

"A steak? Vervain? What even are those things?" Luzia asked, she was beginning to get chilly.

"A wooden stake is like spear made of wood and Vervain is a type of herb that is poisons to us and it smells horrible so we know if it's around."

"Wow, I never knew that."

"So Delphini came back?"

"Yes, it seems like I didn't kill her after all."

Luzia leaped up and grabbed her robe. "Oh, I should run and tell mum-"

"Your mum died, Luzia." Richard reminded her.

"Yeah, but I don't believe it! She needs to know-"

"Luzia, sit back down. I am not finished telling you about what happened."

Luzia sighed and put her robe back on the floor and sat on it. "Carry on then."

"She tried to kill me and partly succeeded, she told me she wanted your father to replace my body, and because I cared about your mother I agreed to die for your father."

"So what happened next?"

"Next thing I knew, I was gone. I woke up far away in a dark room."

"Where?" Luzia asked him. "How did you get back?"

"I later found out I was in a prison in Korea. I had to use my powers to gain my freedom."

"Your vampire powers?"

"Yes, Luzia. I hate to admit it, but I had to bite a few people and drink from a few people. I didn't really want to drink as I was ill and contagious, but I'd of been useless without blood. Once I drank enough I ran away and bought myself a new wand. I then apparated to London and sneaked onto the Hogwarts express yesterday."

"How did you get onboard without anyone noticing you?"

"Luck I guess."

Richard then busted into a coughing fit. Luzia didn't know what to do.

"What do you think would be the worst thing that would happen to me if I let you drink from me?"

"I'd hurt you more than likely."

"How?"

"I'd make you very poorly. I can't risk hurting you. Your mother has already lost Benji and I don't want her to lose you too. Anyway, I'm sure lunch time is over now so you better go back to school for your next lesson."

"Professor McGonagall gave me and Penelope the day off."

"Because of your mother?"

"Yes."

"Oh, that's good then. Can I read your new timetable?"

"Sure."

Luzia reached into her pocket and pulled out her timetable. When she pulled it out her mothers letter also fell out and landed in a little puddle of water.

"Here you go." Luzia said as she passed it to her.

"You dropped something." Richard told her. "Who sent you a letter?"
