Maekayla's point of view

I ignored my parents as I walked to my room and shut the door. I wanted to be alone. I didn't want to see anyone or talk to anyone. I didn't even want to be under the same roof as anyone.

However, I couldn't leave. If I tried, the boys would make me stay. Worse, Michael is down there and I don't want to see him.

I sighed and grabbed my phone. I had a message and it was from a number I haven't seen in a long time. I checked it and re-read it over and over again.

'Hey, I really need to talk to you. In person. May I come over?'

I hesitated. Do I really want to talk to him again, let alone see his face? Do I really want him to come over? Do I really want to hear his voice?

I waited, thinking about it. Maybe an apology is good. Maybe it will fix things between us. Maybe, just maybe, we'll get back together and I'll have something to smile about again.

'Sure,' I texted him back. He said he'll be here in fifteen minutes and I left it as. I looked down at my outfit and shook my head. I can't look like trash.

I went to my closet and grabbed a pair of black jeggings and a grey and black striped, long sleeve. I threw it on and then sighed.

These jeggings have gotten so much harder to pull up...I don't seem to be losing weight, I'm gaining weight. I need to try harder.

I ran a brush through my knotted and nappy hair. I left it down and over my shoulders. I heard tick's and tap's on my window and I looked.

He was throwing rocks at my window. I smiled smally and then raised my window open. He climbed up the tree beside my window and swung himself up.

"Long time no see," I said and he nodded, his thin lips frowning slightly. "What do you need to talk about Max?" I asked as I let him into my room.

"I miss us. I miss you." He said, his brown eyes staring at me. "It's been hell being away from you for so long. Please. I'm sorry I had that meltdown. I'm sorry for the things I said. I didn't mean them. You know sometimes I say things that I don't mean."

I nodded and then bit my lip. "Please Kayla. We were so happy together. You needed me and I needed you. Let me show you how sorry I am. You don't have to forgive me so quick, but at least give me a second chance."

"I-" I couldn't finish. I was still debating. A few seconds later, I nodded and pushed my bangs out of my eye, just to have them fall right back. "Yeah," I said. "I will. I'll give you a second chance."

He smiled brightly and picked me up, twirling me around like those cliche movies. "Thank you so much Kayla," he said happily hand then set me down. He hugged me tightly and I hugged him back, a real smile on my face.

"Princess, when was the last time you ate?" He asked me and then shook his head. "I mean Kayla, sorry," he said and I chuckled at his slip-up.

"I ate earlier," I lied, toying with my sleeves. I haven't eaten all day but that's good. I need to lose weight.

"You're lying to me," he said as he grabbed my hands. "You don't need to be like those supermodels on the television or in magazines Kayla. You said you'd stop."

"You said you'd stay," I retorted and he sighed. "I'm sorry, I just, Michael is around again and everything suddenly became harder to do and things seem to be slipping from my lips a-"

He pressed his lips against mine and I stood there shocked. Slowly, I melted into the feeling of his lips on mine after so long and then shut my eyes.

We pulled away and I blushed. "Sorry, you were rambling and I didn't want to be rude." He said and I nodded. "Um Kayla, who's that guy in your door?"

I looked at saw Calum. "Hey Cal, what do-what do you need?" I asked and he cleared hie throat. How long had be been standing there? Why didn't I hear him knock?

"Um, we were wondering if you wanted to come down and hang out with us but I see you're busy so I'll just tell them you said no." He said and then shut the door.

"Um, that was weird." He said as he ran a hand through his hair, momentarily keeping his hair out of his eyes.

"Can I stay? My parents were at it again." He said softly and I bit the inside of my lip. We just met up after a month and a half of not seeing each other. Should I let him stay?

"Yeah," I said, feeling bad. I know his parents have problems and I don't want him to be in the middle of it. I've seen it happen and I don't want it happening again.

"Are my things still here or did you burn them?" He asked with a slight chuckle. I got down on my knees and he backed away while I turned to the bed.

"Nasty," I giggled and then grabbed a suitcase under the bed. "Everything you ever left in my room. I was going to toss it out but I kept forgetting. They're clean."

He nodded and I got up. "You still have that guitar Mikey gave you years ago?" He asked as he picked it up. I nodded and laid down on my bed.

"I'll never get rid of that. It's one of the most important things to me." I said as he started strumming it. He was always a better at playing than I was.

"What happened to your bathroom door?" He asked as he looked at it. "It's broken down." He said, stating the obvious.

"It's a story I really don't feel like telling." I told him and he nodded respectfully. "Maybe some other time." I said and he nodded.

"I learned a new song, it used to be your favorite." He said as he started strumming the guitar. "Would you like to hear it?"

I nodded, remembering how I used to always love him play. He would sing me to sleep when I had nightmares and he would play me a song whenever I asked.

"Give me love like her," he sang and I smiled. I love this song. It was mumber two in my top five. It's just really good. Ed Sheeran is a lyrical master.

"All I want, is the taste that your lips allow," he sang the chorus, his eyes staring at me. I smiled a real smile and I watched him play.

"It's been awhile, but I still feel the same," he sang. He stood up and then walked towards my bed. He took a seat beside me and turned towards me.

"Give a little time to me, or burn this out," he sang, his lips curlimg into a smile as he saw how much I loved it. His dimples showed and I just had to poke them.

He laughed but continued playing the song. "Oh my my, oh my my, oh my my, give me love lover," he sang. I had forgotten how much I loved hearing him sing to me.

"My my, my my, give me love," he sang and I leaned back. "What did you think?" He asked when he finished the song.

"I thought it was beautiful," I said and he smiled. "And I think, we can give us another shot, if you'd like." I said and he smiled even wider.

"That's all I've ever wanted," he said as I poked his dimple again.
