"Sir? Are you awake?" A voice said from the other side of the door.
I groaned and covered myself with my blankets.
"Your father is calling you for breakfast"
I sat up and ruffled my hair.
"Tell him I will be there in 10 minutes" I said as I yawned.
"Okay sir" The voice said as I got up.
I heard footsteps going away. I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked like a mess. It was going to be another day of pretending to be "perfect". I went over to my closet and put on a suit. It was something I have always had to wear to look "proper". I couldn't careless. I fixed the shoulders and brushed my hair. I grabbed my crown and placed it on my head. I let out a sigh and headed towards the dining room.
"Ah there you are George" said father as he saw me walk in.
"Morning father" I said as I sat down at the opposite side of the table.
The dining table was long and dad liked when we sat at the opposite ends.
A lady came in and served us food.
"Thank you miss" I said as I smiled.
She smiled and walked back to the kitchen.
"When are you going to find a woman suitable George" He said as he began to eat.
"Well maybe if you let me out the palace often I would find someone..."
"George you should know the dangers of the outside world, there is people wanting to take us" (Father)
"Well don't you want me to find someone "suitable" as you say" I said as I rolled my eyes.
"I will have some knights take you to the village now finish eating, and don't roll your eyes at me" He said in a harsh tone.
I nodded and began to eat. Little did Dad now is that I feel no emotions. I feel...nothing. I don't feel anything not even happiness. I fake it all. I have learned to fake it. I can't feel...love. My plan is to just find someone who dad might like. I finished my meal and excused myself from the table.
"You will be heading out at 3 pm so be ready" Dad said as I walked away.
I looked back and smiled at him. As soon as I was out of sight I stopped smiling. I headed into my room. I grabbed my sketchbook and sat near the window. I began to sketch the garden. I roughly sketched the flowers and some of the gardeners.
[Time skip: 2:47 pm]
There was a knock at the door.
"Come in" I said as I put my sketchbook down.
A girl around my age come in.
"Just checking in, you will be touring the village in a few minutes." she said in a quiet voice.
"Alright"
She looked over at my sketchbook and a smile appeared. She walked towards me.
"You draw?" she asked as she admired the drawing.
"Um yeah I do"
"You should paint it, it will look a thousand time better.....n-not like it's bad or a-anything it's just color makes it....better?" she said nervously.
"I would paint it but....I can't see much color..." I said as I laughed.
"Oh, Well I can help you? I will be at the palace more often since I work here now....the name's Alissa" she said with a bright smile and reached her hand out.
"The name's George" I said as I shook her hand.
"Well of course I know that you are only like what...the only prince we have" (Alissa)
I laughed. She just kept smiling.
"I will be with you" (Alissa)
I looked confused. She must have noticed and spoke up"
"I will be with you touring the village of course" she said as she laughed.
"Oh, make sense"
"Speaking of the village it's time to go"
I got up. Alissa walked out the room. I sighed and put a smile on my face. I walked out my room to be greeted by some knights. They escorted me outside. We walked out the gates. It was just me, Alissa, and 3 knights. We had entered the village.
"What would you like to look at first?" (Alissa)
"I don't know just pick?"
"Alright lets go to some merchants" She said as she walked ahead of us.
As we walked I felt all eyes on me. I looked over and indeed all eyes were on me.
"Here we are" she said as she took us to a flower shop.
"A flower shop? Is this some kind of joke?"
"Oh relax I will teach you the colors"
Does she not understand I cannot see them? The only color I see is blue the rest is just an off version of brown or yellow.
"I guess"
"See this flower" she said as she picked up a flower.
"This is a red flower" (Alissa)
"Looks brown to me"
As Alissa talked to the merchant I looked around. I saw many young ladies smiling and winking at me. Were they trying to get my attention? I brushed it off and looked at Alissa.
"Well this was no help, lets go visit the rest of the shops"
[Time skip: 3:57 pm]
"Alright last stop of the day before we head back" (Alissa)
We headed inside a little house. It was a dark house. There was an old lady sitting at the table. We sat down at the table. There was a crystal ball on the table.
"Hello, how can I help you" said the old lady.
"a reading for the prince please" Alissa said happily.
"Okay but I will need you guys out" said the old lady in a hushed tone.
Alissa nodded and took the knights outside.
"Just come out when you are done" Alissa said as she went outside.
"I have been wanting to talk to you" (lady)
"Huh?"
She pulled out a piece of paper. It was blank. I was about to talk but she shushed me. Words started to appear on the paper...
"Reality is not what it seems..." is what it read.
I looked at the paper. Why does that mean.
"I feel negative energy, you aren't what you think you are" she said worryingly.
I was confused. I got up and put the paper in my pocket, I headed outside. Alissa was there waiting with the knights. I signaled to the palace and we began to walk there. All I can think about it what the paper said.
Reality is not what it seems....
