It was the day that Jihoon was supposed to play a song he made especially for Seungcheol that left him shattered in pieces.
Jihoon remembers how he was thrilled and at the same time, was highly strung. It was the first time he would be serenading Seungcheol with a song dedicated and made entirely for him. No matter how hard Seungcheol tries to read or listen to him doing the song, he tried so much to tell him that it was a secret, and he should be patient but now, today's the day. Seungcheol doesn't need to wait anymore for this song because he has gathered enough courage to finally sing and profess his love even more to Seungcheol.
Jihoon called Seungcheol from his phone. It was a Saturday, yet he wasn't around today because he has a work-related emergency. So, as early as 9 o'clock could be, Seungcheol hurriedly dresses and ran to the bus station to go to work immediately but before leaving for work in a hurry, he didn't forget to leave Jihoon and their dog some breakfast. It was nice that even though Seungcheol was in a hurry he was still thinking of them.
Jihoon smiled to himself and carried their dog in his arms. His guitar was placed on its case and is now carried on his back.
He waited for Seungcheol to answer as he walks towards the cafe. It was just a 15-minute walk from where they lived so it wasn't a big deal for him to walk. The sky was getting a bit darker because the sun has set already. The town's light is starting to light one by one, and he swears, this is his favorite moment in the town. Yeah, maybe the city lights were better, but in a town filled with passionate people who do things for their happiness, the town's light was much better because it symbolizes the people's passion and happiness and Jihoon was one of them.
"Hey, Cheol. I'm going to Boo's tonight." Jihoon said as soon as Seungcheol answered his phone. He heard a distant noise from the phone, but it was probably the files, Seungcheol's been working at.
"Oh. Is that so? What time will you be playing?" Jihoon hummed as a response and thought that he could play whenever since Seungkwan could deal with the schedule of artists playing in his cafe.
"What time will you be done by work? I could play when you come to the cafe." Jihoon said, nodding a few times to those who greet him on the street.
"Oh alright then... I guess I'll be out by 7." Jihoon hummed as a response that he understood.
"I'll be playing at 7:30 then. Make sure to come, alright?" he could hear Cheol laugh from the end of the line and said,
"Yes. Alright. I'll be there, Ji." Seungcheol said. He was almost near Seungkwan's cafe, and he saw him waving at the front for him.
"Okay. Thank you, Cheol. I love you. Stay safe." Jihoon said. It took time before Seungcheol answered him.
"Yes. I-i love you, too. I'll get going, okay? Keep safe." Before Jihoon could answer back, the call ended.
He put his phone away and snap himself back into reality. He saw Seungkwan waving to him from afar and he couldn't help but wave back at him. Once, he was in front of Seungkwan's cafe, Seungkwan took their dog from his hand and talked him through about who's playing and what they're playing.
"You should schedule mine at 7:30 or 8," Jihoon said, sitting down at the cafe's bar.
"Wow, that late?" Seungkwan said as he told Hansol to bring their dog upstairs to where they live.
Seungkwan's cafe was great, his downstairs was meant for his cafe business, meanwhile, the upstairs was his place to live which is why every now and then, Jihoon takes their dog to Seungkwan's place so that he won't be lonely, and he could play with Seungkwan's dogs as well. A perfect place for a dog sitting workplace really.
