Returning home, Jihoon didn't ask Seungcheol who he was with.
He didn't ask why they were kissing.
He didn't ask how long it has been since he's been doing this behind his back.
He didn't say anything.
All he did was sit on the couch and stare at his hands. Seungcheol kneeled before Jihoon, taking his hand into his. Stopping him from scratching the sides of his fingers.
Jihoon couldn't even look him in the eye because his eyes kept betraying him.
"His name is Wonwoo." Seungcheol trailed off. Jihoon could feel himself shaking. He knew who Wonwoo was, he was always present in Seungcheol's stories about work. He was always the main character of his stories. He was always who Seungcheol talks about, and it makes him feel bitter even more.
"He is a friend at work. was... a friend at work... I didn't know how or when it happened but one night at work, we started talking to each other... a lot, and the next day after that, and the next following days as well."
"We were always together, Ji. He was always with me during work and our overtime. He would always ease up my built-up stress. He would always do or say something that keeps my mind in check that he left a huge impact on me."
"He became my habit... I would sometimes feel empty when I don't talk to him and at first, I don't get it, Ji. You're with me and when we don't speak to each other I'm alright with it. It doesn't bother me that much but when he doesn't, I don't know why I feel like I have to do something. I feel the happiest when we spend our time together and sometimes, I cannot get him out of my mind. I don't understand what's happening to me, Ji. I really don't. He makes me feel something that I don't feel with you." Jihoon's heart broke.
"Jihoon." Jihoon hated hearing Seungcheol call him by his full name and right now, he knows.
Seungcheol doesn't feel the same way he did.
"I ..he's the reason why I work overtime. We go for dinner every after work. We go to lunch together and he's my immediate work-related emergency. I can't bear not seeing him all day that it makes me crazy."
"What are you saying, Cheol?"
"Jihoon. I love him."
Jihoon bit his lips, trying to stop himself from weeping loudly but he can't do it. He sobbed hard. Seungcheol hugged him, trying to comfort the broken man but Jihoon could only hit him on his chest. This was the best he could do.
"I love him, Ji. I'm sorry." Jihoon sobbed harder. Seungcheol kept repeating the words as he hugs him and Jihoon doesn't know what to do or say or think.
He didn't know love could be this painful.
He didn't know love could feel this sorrow.
He didn't know what he did for him to deserve this.
He didn't know why life did this to him.
He was just trying to live life simply with the one he loves.
However, was living simply with him not enough for Seungcheol?
