Izuku knew something was off when most of his teachers were replaced by substitutes early in the afternoon. Alarms rang in his head when even Aizawa was reporting 'unable to teach' his lesson during 7th period. But it wasn't until after school that he knew. He arrived home, only to see a note from his mom explaining how the hospital needed her to work late, nothing too abnormal, that is until his phone rang. It was Aunt Mitsuki. "Auntie?" Izuku answered. Silence. "Hey Izu. Could you come down to the hospital?" Mitsuki said in a soft tone that was foreign to the woman. "Of course. Did something happen?" Izuku asked, obviously unnerved by the woman's request. "It's Katsuki."

-

Izuku rushed into the hospital, not bothering to check in, they all knew him, he rushed to the room number Aunt Mitsuki texted him, 207. Inside laid an unconscious Katsuki, Aunt Mitsuki, and his mom. Izuku held in a flinch when he saw the blonde boy's body, he was shirtless, exposing stitches that ran from his neck to his abdomen, wires were attached all over his body, monitoring his vitals. It was clear he had suffered severe blood loss and head trauma thanks to the bandages wrapping around his head and the blood bags draining into his veins. "What happened." Izuku asked hesitantly, scared of the response. Aunt Mitsuki was the one to fill him in. "His class was training at one of U.As facilities, when they were attacked by a group of villains. Not many of the students or teachers were injured except for him, pro hero Thirteen, and his homeroom teacher, Mr. Aizawa. Izuku's eyes widened, Mr. Aizawa was injured? Is he okay? "Mr. Aizawa managed to subdue most of the villains before going unconscious, then All Might showed up, taking care of one of the main villains, a mutant. When All Might delivered the final blow the villain shot through the roof of the facility, Katsuki wasn't able to move out of the way, and was crushed by a falling piece of the ceiling." Aunt Mitsuki finished. Izuku was seething. His image of All Might was already lower than when he was a child, but this shattered any sense of adoration he had for the hero. All the students would have been fine if it wasn't for his inability to think of the damage he was causing. He pushed down his personal feelings, it was more important to find out if the people he cared about would be okay. "Are Kacchan, Mr. Aizawa, and Thirteen going to be okay?" Izuku asked cautiously. Aunt Mitsuki took a breathe, exchanging a look with his mom, who had so far stayed silent. "Katsuki and Thirteen won't be waking up for a few days because of the healing that took place, but they will live. As for Mr. Aizawa, he suffered grave injuries to his face that will most likely leave scarring but will be able to return to teaching in bandages after a day or two." His mom filled him in. A flood of relief washed over him, the people he cared for would be okay. This however gave time for his personal feelings to resurface. Why in the fuck didn't All Might keep the damage to a minimum or at least make sure no one was in the line of danger? He had to rant about the number one hero. But who would listen? He pulled out his phone.

Izuku: Hey Shiggy. Can we talk soon?

-

He put his phone in his pocket, knowing that he shouldn't expect an immediate response. Turning his attention back to the two adult in the room. "Were the villains behind the attack apprehended?" He asked. "Unfortunately the leaders were not apprehended, only a large number of low-level thugs. They don't have much information on the leaders, since not many of the students were involved in the main battle. Hopefully once Katsuki and Mr. Aizawa are able to speak on the matter they will have enough information to figure out their identities." Aunt Mitsuki informed him. Izuku nodded understandingly, then proceeded to excuse himself out of the room.

Shigaraki: Sure kid. The work I had is over, and it didn't go so well I need some cheering up. Feel free to stop by.

Izuku smiled at his phone, at least not all was wrong. Right?
