FLASHBACK — NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA; 1985
bella's parents were gone for three weeks on vacation, which meant bella was home alone and every afternoon after work, johnny drove bella home and would stay over. the couple had the house all to themselves.
as bella grabbed her house key from her bag and opened up her front door, johnny picked her up bridal style and headed inside of the north hollywood house. bella giggled as she tossed her bag aside and laid back on the couch as he hovered over her body.
"i love coming home with you." bella smiled as she ran her hands through his long blonde hair.
"oh, am i gonna love living with you." johnny smiled as he kissed bella once more, as he laid on her stomach. "i can just imagine coming home to you, every day."
"and waking up to you every day." bella smiled as she wrapped her arms around johnny's body. "i could get used to this."
"so could i." johnny sighed as he placed small kisses on bella's stomach. "you know, i had a dream about us living together."
"mhm? what's on your mind?" bella sighed as she continued to run her hands through his hair.
"i dreamt of us, laying in bed on a saturday morning, just the two of us, in a little place of our own." johnny explained as he played with bella's hands. "just the two of us, holding each other. there's no one else, just us."
"do you see us together, like even after i finish college?" bella smiled.
"yeah." johnny smiled as he placed a soft kiss on bella's hand. "i maybe even see you with a ring around your finger."
"oh really?" bella smirked as she played with her boyfriend's blonde locks.
"yeah, eventually." johnny said. "i love you and i just want to be with you."
bella softly pressed her lips against his as johnny held her waist. "as much as i loved talking about the future, let's enjoy our last summer as kids." bella smiled. "we still have the house to ourselves and we have it all to ourselves for two more weeks."

PRESENT DAY — VAN NUYS, CA; 1990
bella parked her white mercedes in a parking space next to her boyfriend's red pontiac. she saw her boyfriend walk out of the apartment, holding a duffle bag.
"hey princess." johnny smiled as he greeted the brunette with a small kiss.
"where are you doing?" bella said as she removed her glasses from her eyes and placed them atop of her head.
"i have a surprise for you." johnny smiled as he placed his bag in the trunk. "y'know how it's our anniversary weekend?"
"should i be worried about how that sentence ends?" bella smirked as she leaned on her white car.
"you're gonna love this." johnny said as he intertwined his hands with bella's. "so i did jimmy a favor back in '86 and he's owed me one–"
"okay, so i should be worried." bella sighed.
"and because he owed me one, i asked him to loan me the keys to the beach house so i could surprise you and take you up to malibu to celebrate." johnny said as he pulled the beach house keys from out of his pocket. "and he caved."
"you shouldn't have." bella said as she softly bit her lip. "thank you."
"so, while i go pump gas, go pack." johnny smiled as he pulled her close and kissed her temple. "i'll be back soon."
"alright." bella smiled as she walked up the stairs and into the apartment. she went into her closet and pulled out a duffel bag. she grabbed some clothing; including swimsuits, shorts, t-shirts, as well as some lingerie. as she continued to pack, she changed out of the skirt she wore to work today and slipped into comfortable clothing.
she grabbed her make-up bag, hair products, and personal items and stuffed them in her bag. bella then grabbed her walkman and stuffed it into her bag, just in case she wanted to go for a run. as she packed, johnny came back into the apartment.
"you ready?" johnny called out from the living room.
"almost." bella sighed as she finished placing items in her bag. she zipped up her bag and brought it out to the living room. "okay, now i'm ready."
bella grabbed her bag and placed it in the trunk of the car before getting into the passenger seat of the car. johnny started the car and pulled out of the parking lot of the apartment complex and into the highway, as boston on the radio.
"i can't believe you're taking me to malibu." bella smiled as she placed her sunglasses back on.
"well it is our 5 year anniversary and i wanted it to be special." johnny smiled as he drove down the busy highway.
"i love you." bella smiled as she kissed his cheek and wrapped her arms around his neck. "this is gonna be some weekend, huh?"
"you know it, princess." johnny smirked as bella placed her head on his shoulder.

"ah, this is great!" bella smiled as she placed her bag in the bedroom. "i can't believe jimmy really let you borrow the beach house."
"like i said, he owed me; big time." johnny said as he laid on the bed.
"you and your favors." bella giggled as she laid down next to johnny. he gripped her waist and pulled her closer to him. "so what do you have planned?"
"it's a surprise." johnny smirked as he wrapped her arms around her waist as she ran her hands through his hair. "you're gonna love every moment, i know you will."
"you're full of surprises." bella smiled as she placed her lips on his. "i'm gonna go for a walk on the beach, you wanna join me?"
"i was hoping we could do something else." johnny said. softly biting his lip. "we're alone, we have the house to ourselves, and we're in malibu."
"we just got here." bella laughed. "we have all night to do it."
"yeah, i know." johnny said as he pecked her lips, softly tugging on her lips. "i just thought you'd be in the mood."
"what do you say if we go for a walk on the beach and then when we get back, we'll do that something else?" bella smiled. "because, i'm kinda in the mood as well."
