Prologue:
“Bye Sophia. Promise you won’t forget me?” 10 year old Ryan Mason sniffled.
“I promise Ryan,” 10 year old Sophia Peterson. They linked pinkies.
“NO, NO! PLEASE DON’T GO!” Ryan dropped to his knees, bawling. He was so sad that his best friend had to move away.
“I WISH I DIDN’T HAVE TO!” Sophia dropped to her knees as well.
“I hate your dad!” Ryan screamed.
“I hate him too!” Sophia agreed.
“Sophia Rose Peterson, get in the car!” Mrs. Isabella Peterson opened the back seat of the Peterson’s silver Lexus.
“Ryan Edward Mason! Get back here!” Mrs. Helena Mason grabbed little Ryan by his suspenders.
Mrs. Peterson picked Sophia up and put in her the back seat and buckled her seatbelt, dodging Sophia’s kicks and punches.
And just like that, Ryan watched his best friend leave.
