Blake's POV
"Heya!" I beamed at the man inside of the pub, who had his nine-millimeter gun trained on my face. "Whatcha doin'?" I leaned against the frame of the window, watching him.
His shoulders were twitching in fear. Fear for his life. "I ain't no walker. Put that shit down," I nudged the barrel, making it aim at the floor. He looked straight at me, the barrel moved from his face.
He sighed and walked around, out the door and in front of me. "Er, hello..." His voice was deep and a bit strained.
"Hi," I replied, bouncing lightly on the balls of my feet, my arms behind my back.
"Yeah.." He scratched his head and pulled his fire axe, dragging it across the wall and going back inside to scale the building.
I gave him a hint of a pout, even though he couldn't see me. I sat down with my hands in my lap and looked up as a man with a loaded crossbow ran out between two buildings and aimed at me. "Hello." I smiled.
Suddenly the fire axe boy ran out of the pub and tackled him, lodging the axe in his knee. Crossbow man screamed in agony, throwing him off and shooting an arrow into his gut.
I watched as they both started to bleed out. I rolled my eyes a bit, getting up and ripping the arrow out from fire axe man's gut. He winced, and let out a groan.
I then went over the crossbow guy and got bandages from my backpack, wrapping his knee. He didn't protest. I shoved a couple of painkillers in his mouth and kicked fire axe dude in the side. "Idiot." I then shoved a couple of painkillers in his mouth as well, wrapping his torso in bandages.
"So!" I breathed, sitting a bit between them. "What's our names hmm?" They said nothing. "I'm Blake," I said slowly. I touched fire axe dude's arm. "What about you?"
"Jacob." He let out.
"Alrighty. What about you?" I looked at the kid with the crossbow.
He cleared his throat and shuddered before replying, "Axe."
"Alright, this is g-" I was interrupted by Jacob. "You runt!" He yelled at Axe.
"Excuse me?" Axe twitched. "Where where you going? Tell me!" He growled, pulling a switchblade.
"Th-The prison.." He shook slightly. "Chill out man.."
~~~
I trudged behind them as Jacob forced Axe to lead us to the prison. I protested many times but it just seemed to make him angrier. I looked back at the pub and the stack of bottles flashed in my mind.
"Blake!" Jacob barked. His voice made my thoughts scatter in panic. I looked up. "Faster. Come on." He gestured me forward. I made a quick pace forward, walking along with Axe.
"Hi," I peeped at him. He glanced at me for a split second before changing directions, going up a hill. "Soo what else do you have besides that crossbow?" I asked.
He barely replied, "A scoped sparrow and a blade.." I nodded slowly. "Any bottles?" He glanced at me. "Why would I have bottles..?"
I unzipped my jacket and opened the sides, showing a variety of bottles, of all shapes and sizes. "Don't touch the corked ones. Those are filled with poison." I warned as his eyes flickered over them.
"Hey! Chop chop!" Jacob yelled from behind. "We're almost there." Axe puffed, getting to the top of the hill and glancing at the houses, before going across to go down the other side. I followed after like a lost puppy, eager to see the prison.
Once we got to the bottom of the hill, there it was. Jacob grabbed his wrist. "Why where you coming here.." Jacob snarled. "I seek shelter!" Axe yelled back. Jacob's eyes showed no mercy. "You are of no use to me." He pressed his revolver against Axe's head. On instinct, I ran and kicked the gun out of his hand.
He yelled at me and kicked me back. I skidded across the ground, letting out a cry, wincing. He grabbed his fire axe and slashed at Axe. He jumped back and pulled his crossbow, shooting a bolt into his leg. Jacob fell into the stream and Axe made a run for the prison.
I followed.
