Two months. Joa was gone for two months. The man that saved me from the slavers had left with out a thank you. A pang of guilt hit me right in the stomach. I sat there at my usual spot. Connor was gone as well. What the Hell happened? Crane Town was literally turned into a Ghost Town.. No one was around. Then Joa suddenly walked through the entrance of Crane, walking past me. I sat up stiffly. "Hey- Hey!" I yelled, getting up. He turned to me.
"Hm?" He frowned, raising a brow.
"That's all I get? A.." I mimicked him. "Hm?" I saw a twitch of a smile on his lips. "Gone for two months and don't even let me say thank you?" I smacked his arm, pulling him up the crane.
"Pushy much?" He uttered. I shot him a slight scowl. I climbed up, pulling him to sit.
"Soo?" I urged him on. "Where in Hell have you been?"
"Florida." He said, glancing down at Crane Town. "Been in Florida."
"Well, let's go get a drink, then," I said, smacking his arm with the back of my hand, getting up.
"I was going to go back.." He said. My heart sank. "I came for supplies."
"What's wrong with me huh?" I said. "Come on, we're getting a drink," I said, pulling him. I slid down the ladder, dashing to the bar. He followed with a small grunt. "Thank you, by the way." He shook his head.
"No problem." He replied flatly, grabbing a random bottle from the shelf. The bartender was out, which meant free drinks. I always loved that. I grabbed a scotch from the shelf, sitting back in my chair, kicking up my feet. "You wanna practice later?" He suggested. I raised a brow. "Spar." He said. I cringed, glancing to the side.
"I dislike sparring," I said plainly.
"Oh come on." He chuckled. "It'll be fun." I groaned, finally giving in. After we finished our drinks, we headed up to the fighting pit. I took off all my gear as did he. I kicked it aside and stepped on the mat, raising my fists. He did the same, his stance slightly lower. "You count off." He said with a smirk.
I rolled my eyes at him and said, "Go." He stepped in and I slammed my fist into his shoulder, causing him to stumble to the side. I took this as an advantage and slammed my elbow into his nose. He then stumbled backward, gaining his balance again, holding his bloody nose. I backed off, giving him a moment to recover.
Well damn, he recovered fast, because he then sped towards me and swept my legs from under me, causing me to slam down on my back. He began mounting me when I quickly raised my knee, flying it straight into his groin. His breath hitched and he fell straight off, rolling to his back, holding the impacted area. I then mounted him, pinning down his shoulders with my knees.
"I won." I smiled. "Score one for Carmen," I said, enthusiastically pumping my fists. He chuckled, shaking his head.
"I see that." He laughed. I stood up but he brought me right back down again, making me sit on his chest. I stared with a flinch when he suddenly tilted his head and leaned upward, pressing his lips against mine. I felt a surge of energy when I suddenly forgot everything else in the world. The only thing I saw and felt was him against me.
But then I gasped and pulled away. "Connor." Was the only thing that squeezed out of me. Joa stared up at me, pain in his eyes. "I'm married.." I muttered softly, pushing off of him and walking over to my gear. I pulled it all on and turned around, smashing into Joa again. I looked up with a frown. "Joa," I said in a calm tone.
He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me into him, causing me to flinch. "I really don't care.." He muttered, pressing his lips against mine again. I half melted. I wasn't going to lie, it felt good as Hell, but I have a commitment with Connor.
