Clary's POV:
As I step out of the portal I hear it close behind me. I look up to see all of the others not far in distance waiting at the end of the road for me.
I smile at them and start making my way over while trying to push the intrusive thoughts away.
I just want to get away from the thought that I'm pregnant. I'm too young. And who knows what jace will say. And Luke? Hell he will possibly disown me.
"Hey Clary, are you ok you look really tired."
I hear Izzy say as I approach the group.
"Yeah izz. I'm totally fine. Let's just get this mission over and done with." I say
Then Alec chimes in.
"Ok so the Demon we are looking for is a shapeshifter. It looks like this right now and we will follow it as it changes form. Then we will lure it into this alley over here and hopefully kill it."
After hearing what Alec said I start to worry about the baby. But it should be fine if I kill a demon. I mean what could go wrong, its the same as if I wasn't pregnant.
"Let's go slay this thing" jace says with excitement.
I scan the perimeter for the demon. I just can't seem to focus.
I draw an stamina rune on my arm and look again. I then spot the demon.
"Guys over there!" I say pointing to the demon beside a food vender.
We all slowly follow the demons path. I'm the diversion so I go straight infront of the demon as it catches gaze of me.
The demon starts to follow me as I slowly lure it into the alley.
The demons blue glowing eyes are a dead giveaway that we have the right demon.
As I near the end of the alley. I start to panic. I'm the diversion so I wasn't given a sword or anything to defend myself. Demons can sense danger. But Izzy Alec and Jace are late. I'm running out of road as the demon opens its mouth and claws.
I finally hit the wall as the demon is ready to attack. It lunges forward and scratch's my chest with all the force it has.
I wince In pain as it comes back for another hit. I then scratch's my neck as I fall to the floor in agony. Just the I see the group pounce down and kill the demon. Hot tears run down my face as waves of heat and pain pulse through my body.
I hear jace screaming at the others to get help but he sounds so far away.
All I can hear is static and far away scrambling.
My eyes are going black then fuzzy as I try to stay conscious. But despite my efforts I feel myself slipping unconscious. I then feel myself being pulled through a portal and I see the institute. Then blackness hits.
Jaces POV:
We are following clary and then demon when all of a sudden a shax demon scurries up behind Izzy. It knocks her off her feet and then goes back to strike. Alec throws the demon just in time and as it scurries back for more I stab it, making the demon disappear back to hell.
"Are you ok Izzy" I ask as she hops back up off the ground.
"Fine but we should go find clary."
She says with a worried tone.
"Yeah your right" I say as I start running to find clary.
I scan the alley. I cant find her. Until my eyes lock in place of clary being scratched by the demon.
Just then nothing else matters. I run to get to clary. I can hear my heart. I then run with all the strength I have and Jump down from the building we were using to stay out of sight. I hit the ground with a thud but still run to get clary. The demon then scratch's clary once more before i stab it in the back. I watch it disintegrate before I rush to clary's side. She's barely conscious.
Shit Demon venom.
I then yell to Izzy and Alec
"GUYS GET A MEDIC. THIS DEMON VENOM SPREADS FAST AND ITS DEADLY."
I feel a tear fall down my cheek. I don't usually cry but I don't care. I hold clary shaking her every so often so she will stay conscious. But my efforts are slowly failing.
"Clary baby stay with me please." I plead before I feel Izzy grab my shoulder. Pulling me and clary through a portal.
We're then portaled to the institute where
I look down at clary who is slowly shutting her eyes.
I see the people from the infirmary rush outside and grab her. Taking her to the infirmary to try to get her to wake up.
I swiftly follow next to them hoping we're not to late.
I could never live with myself if we were. I was late to help and therefore she's very injured. It's my fault.
I then sit down next to clary. Crying while they poke and prod her trying to save her life.
