Summary: Archie sees Douxie fall head over heals for a certain Latino customer and decides to help him out.

Archie leaped off from the top of a smaller book case in the bookstore Douxie minds, landing gracefully on his feet. Not having gotten enough sleep from the shadow hunting the night before (did anyone get that reference... no? Just me... okie) Douxie lay spred out over the small sofa placed by the fire place. Archie, with a grin on his face, stalked over to the front of the sofa, he straightened up on two paws and placed his glasses on his petite nose.

Now with a full view of Douxie's face, Archie could see the bags under his eyes and the line of drool slowly dripping down the side of his face creeping its way towards the soft material under his head.

Archie, not wanting to be too cruel to the boy, transformed into his dragon form and blew hot air lightly onto his face. Douxie stirred, rubbing his nose, but did not wake up.

At this point Archie looked over to the grandfather clock that stood in the corner of the room, seeing it was already 11:00 am Archie took the matter of waking Douxie to the extreme. Archie blew a small neon orange flame onto the blue tips of Douxie's hair, not wanting to cause permanent damage to the boy Archie only set it alight a little... or so he thought.

The small flickering flame that rested on top of Douxie's head quickly grew to become a smoking mess. Now this definitely got his attention. He shot up from where he was lying on the sofa a bit too quickly and tumbled off the edge letting out a small yelp as he fell. Douxie lied on the ground slightly disoriented, feeling sorry for the boy Archie quickly put out the flame while trying very hard to hold in his laughter.

"Good morning?" Archie spoke apprehensively not wanting to provoke Douxie anymore then he already has.

"Is it?" Douxie's hot back, "is it really?!" Rubbing his head the raven haired boy slowly sat up. He looked up to see Archie trying hard to suppress a smile, this causing Archie to break out in a small giggle which very quickly turned into a loud cackle of delight.

Douxie just sat looking at his old friend trying to keep a straight face himself. "This isn't funny!" As he spoke his voice wavered and he could hold in his own chuckle, after all he couldn't hold a grudge against his familiar even if he tried.
Having composed himself Archie stood back up, wiping tears of pure joy off his face.
"I'm sorry but your shift at the cafe starts in half an hour" Archie said trying to make up for what he had done, no matter how amusing it was.

"Well thank you, I guess?" Douxie stood up, still trying to make sure his hair was fully put out. "I'm going to go get changed out of these clothes and get ready for my shift. See you in a bit Arch," Douxie turned to give his familiar a quick warm smile before he left the room.

Archie knew Douxie didn't like the afternoon shifts, these shifts went from around midday and continued until 6... so it was really more of an all day shift.

But the thing Douxie hated more than standing up for hours was what happened after 3, by that time most Arcadian schools were over which meant the mob of high schoolers would flood cafe. This meant minimal tips and loud people, so not the best shift of all time.

Even though Douxie had an eternity to acquire wealth he still finds value in working, Archie has brought this up on many occasions and each time Douxie answers something along the lines of 'I don't want to end up being the freaky dude with the cat' which Archie thought wasn't too bad, he would be the freaky guy the the cool cat.

Douxie walked back into the room with slightly damp hair, now he was wearing his signature black hoodie and bark blue jeans. He was holding a scrunched up white apron in his hand, not wanting to put it on just yet. Archie quickly transformed back into his cat form, collapsed onto all fours once again, and followed quickly after Douxie out of the book store.
