Summary: This is a story based on a world where Krel is human and is the Physician's apprentice, Merlin sends Douxie on more errands and he runs into a stunning young man.Douxie sat scrubbing the wooden floor boards of merlins work shop... again. He has under gone this task everyday for the past three weeks, it was good being Merlin's apprentice but all he really seemed to be doing was running errands.
He got a hot meal every night and a warm bed too sleep in so he was doing better then before, conning people into playing a losing game. Don't get him wrong it was fun but no life really worth living. Even though Douxie had to undergo such tedious tasks he was glad Merlin had liberated him from that life, even if he was a bit of a prick.
"Hisirdoux!" Merlin exclaimed as he walked through the door, nearly tripping on a few books Douxie hadn't finished cleaning up yet. "I need you to fetch me a remedy from Camelot's Physician, and don't..." he said in a stern voice trailing off.
Douxie scrunched up the bridge of his nose and said "but master!"
"But master me," Merlin continued cutting him off. Only three weeks and Merlin has already memorised most of Douxie's habits. Douxie breathed in as if he was about to say something, but decided against it when he saw the stern look the old wizard was giving him.
Douxie turned around rolling his eyes and headed out of the soupy smelling room. He set out on a mini adventure around the castle, he had never been to the physician before and didn't actually know where to go. While he was walking he observed how beautiful the inside of the palace really was.
The smell of cold stone and bread was a wonderful mix, the white palace lit up with sunlight beams reflecting over every surface.
Carvings on the ceilings depicted ancient struggles with immense detail, showing trolls and man alike fighting ruthlessly against eachother, Douxie had never seen the value in bloodshed and wanted nothing to do with the trollish wars at this point, but he didn't really get a choice, being Merlin's apprentice and all.
While Douxie had let his mind run free he stopped looking where he was going, he turned a corner and clashed heads with someone. Douxie fell back and hit his head on the white marbled floor. As he slowly sat up he saw the other person he knocked into rushing towards him.
"I'm so sorry!" The person, a boy, said in an alarmed tone. The boy placed a hand on Douxie's back and helped him sit up enough to lean on the wall of the hallway. The boy scanned over Douxie with his gorgeous light blue eyes, looking for injuries, and sure enough he found some.
"Don't be sorry it's my fault, I should have been looking where I was going," Douxie said groggily. The boy leaned Douxie forwards just enough to probably examine the back of his head where a small trickle of blood was making its way to his neck.
While the boy was examining his head he was muttering a string of words that didn't sound English. Douxie noticed that the boy was wearing a leather belt with numerous different potions and herbs in small bottles attached to it.
"Ok, well you are going to have to come with me," the boy spoke with a soft accent, the concern obvious in his voice.
"May I ask where?" Douxie replied while attempting to get up off of the floor, when he nearly fell back down the mysterious boy caught him and put his left arm over his shoulders.
"To the physicians medical room," Douxie wasn't really in a place to argue and needed to go there anyway so he just walked along side him in silence.
Some time passed while they were walking through the quiet halls of Camelot until the boy spoke again, "what's your name?" He asked softly as they reached a door at the end of a corridor.
