It's 7 in the morning, I'm sipping my hot cappuccino while watching the birds chirping from my balcony. I'm drowning in my own thoughts. Life is good now. I have a job, I'm stable, my brother's getting married, my parents are happy. Everything is going well expect one, Ashwin. I never heard or seen him since the farewell. It has been 2 years, yet I still wonder if what I did was the right thing or otherwise. I don't have his number, I don't know where he lives, I don't have any of his socials, even if I have, how could I go talk to him ? After all that happened. And yes, I still love him !
My thoughts were disturbed by my brother shaking my shoulder aggressively. I gave him a deadly stare.
"Amma asked you to get ready", he said smiling sheepishly.
"Ethukku ? Naa office ponum", I said.
"Ethukka ? My bride seeing ceremony ?", Harish said disappointedly.
"Oh aama le, someone's getting married. Hahaha", I laughed
"Enough of laughing, please get ready", Harish said annoyed.
"Okay boss", I said as I stood up to go choose my dress.
I informed my office that I won't come in today. I went near stairs and shouted for my mom.
"Ammmmaaa", I shouted
"What is it ?", She shouted back
"Can Sam come with us?", I asked
"Yes, sure", I mom said.
I quickly ran up to my room and texted Sam. I told him to come with us , and he agreed immediately. I went to my closet and chose my dress. I got ready quicky and got down.

As I got down, Sam was already there and everyone was ready. My mom, dad and brother got in one car while me and Sam got in his car. The journey was about 30 minutes and we reached a housing are. The houses were so pretty and modern.
As soon we reached, we were welcomed by a middle age man and a woman, whom I assume the bride's parents. We got in and there were some relatives of them I guess. We were seated on the sofa. My brother was in middle of my parents while me and Sam sat on a separate sofa.
"Anthe thambi yaru ma?", an aunty asked.
"He's my friend, Sam", I said.
"You're not married yet ?", the same aunty asked.
"No", I simply said.
Me and Sam were chatting for awhile and as it was talking a while for them to call the bride. She's probably not ready yet. That was not a problem for us anyway so we waited. All of a sudden I had an urge to use the bathroom but I was so awkward to ask as it was a strangers house. I tried to control myself but one of the aunties noticed me struggling quietly.
"There's a bathroom after the kitchen, you can use it ma", the aunty whispered to me.
I said thanks to her and quickly started walking. In order for me to go to the bathroom, I had to go through the kitchen first. I neared the kitchen and it was silent so I thought no one was there. I went in the kitchen and I didn't know what I saw there was gonna change my life. I stood there in utter shock.
