IT'S ENGAGEMENT DAY !!

Ashwin's pov

I was woken up at 6AM to get ready for the engagement. Honestly I was still tired from last night but it's my engagement ! I was way more than excited. One step closer to make her mine. I had butterflies thinking about that. My cousin's were here, one of them brought me my outfit. I showered, get dressed in normal outfit and wanted to go see Shivu, but my cousin Ajay said I'm not supposed to see her until the engagement ! I was devastated but I obeyed. I got dressed in a blue kurta which will be matching with Shivu's dress. Ajay styled my hair and I'm done. Now I only have to wait to see her in her engagement look.

Shivu's pov

Yes ! We're getting engaged today. I felt butterflies in my stomach and I but Ash will feel the same too. I wanted to see him, but I have to wait until the function starts. I got dressed in my gorgeous blue lehenga which Ashwin chose. The make up artist did my make up and hair. All the girls were also getting their face and hair done. And in a span of time, the moment arrived.

Ashwin's pov

The function started, me and Harrish were on the mandap already. The place was crowded from friends and relatives. I was so astonished by the decorations which was simple yet elegant. Our parents were greeting all the guests while rushing to get things in order, I wish I could help them. Luckily our cousin's are there to save the day. They took responsibility of many things and made the day amazing. I turned to see the food was also ready. With all this distraction, my mind was set on one thing, I want to see her. Then the moment arrived, the priest called the bride and Saranya entered first accompanied by the bridesmaids. I've never seen my sister this beautiful. She looked absolutely stunning. I've always fought with her like any other siblings and love her so much. It made me emotional to see her in engagement look, knowing that she will not stay with us for long. She entered the mandap and stood beside Harrish.

Then, the moment I was waiting for arrived. Sivaangi was called. I couldn't control my feelings, I smiled to my ears. And there she comes, accompanied by the bridesmaids, wearing the blue lehenga I picked, with a simple make up, she looked absolutely stunning. I couldn't take my eyes off her. She looked at me and smiled, I blushed. In no time, she was there standing beside me.

"You look amazing", I whispered to her, she blushed.

We both looked in to each others eyes and knew that we made the right decision.

Then, it was time to exchange rings. Saranya and Harrish exchanged their rings first. I was happy for them both. All our is cheered and photos were taken. Then, it was time for us. The ring was handed to me, it has the initial 'A' which stands for Ashwin. I held her hand gently and put on the the ring on her ring finger. I held her hand pecked a kiss on it.  She looked at me and smiled. Then it was her turn, she held my hand with her gentle, I could feel her hands trembling, I know she's nervous. So I whispered "I love you chellama" which made her smile and she was confident. She slowly put on a ring that has a 'S' initial on my ring finger. And yes, were officially engaged ! I couldn't believe it. I was in cloud nine. She looked at me and gave a big grin. I knew she was happy too. Everyone cheered for us.

Then, it was time for pictures. We took so many pictures with family, friends and relatives. Especially with Sam and Sri as Sam is known for his funny poses. He made us do so many funny poses and we all had a good laugh. Soon, we were all tired. Some guests were having food and wishes us and some are headed out. Soon, it was only our close relatives left. And just like that, the function ended and I got engaged to the girl of my dream !

After the function, everyone changed and some went to take a nap. I quickly changed and went to Shivu's room. YES! She was alone. She was still wearing the lehenga top but she changed her skirt to leggings and she was unpinning her hair.

"Can I help?", I asked her to which she jerked. I guess she didn't notice I was there.

"When did you came? I was getting changed", She said.

"We're engaged now, remember?", I asked while helping her unpin her hair.

She turned to me, smiled and hugged. I was surprised yet I hugged her back. She looked up at me and said,

"Can you believe it ? We're engaged", she said excitedly.

"Yes, you're mine now", I said while still hugging her.

"Not yet, not until we're married", she said and laughed.

I groaned and snuggled my face on her neck. She giggled and pushed me on the bed. She crawled on the bed and came near me. She brought her mouth to my ears as she was about to say something. I heart beat fast. Then she whispered,

"Go to your room"

Ughh this girl, I thought she was about to do something. I groaned and pulled her on top of me. She laid her head on my chest.

"Ashwineyy !", suddenly she yelled.

"Enna achi ma?", I asked.

"We have to send of Sam and Sri!", she said.

"Oh shoot ! I forgot the new married couple", I said.

Shivu laughed to my comment.

"Go down, I'll be there", she said.

"Come let's go together", I said innocently.

"I need to change", she exclaimed.

"Ohh okay ma okay ma", I realized.

Then she dragged me out of the room and she went in to change.

At the evening, we sent off Ashwin and Sri to the city. I gave them my car as it will be easier for them. Me and Shivu really hope they could convince their parents. Let's see how it goes.
