Chapter 28

Sivaangi's pov

We were finally married with loud cheering from everyone there. I'm officially Ashwin's wife now. Just thinking about the fact made butterflies in my stomach. I was the happiest.

The main event followed by some other rituals and the guests were off to enjoy their buffet. We got our blessings from our parents and Tata Patti. Meena aunty hugged me and said "You're my daughter now". Everything about the day was perfect. Even Sandhya was really nice and gave us some gifts. It was great to see people change for the good.

We took a million pictures so we wouldn't miss any of the memories today. This is going to be our memory of a lifetime. Time passed and few guests started to leave. It was only our close relatives and friends left. We had our first meal as husband and wife. My amma instructed me feed some food to Ashwin. I did while blushing. Ashwin did the same.

By evening, we left the location and were back at the house. There was no rituals when we were back since it's not our house. Excess ritual will be done back at our home. Back at the rented house, me and Ashwin were told to get rest but in a separate room. We didn't question much and headed to our respective rooms. Mia helped me get the jewelry and make up off. I changed into a comfortable chudi.

By the time I got changed, Amma entered the room. She looked at me in disappointment.

"Enna Sivaangi ithu", she asked.

"Why what's wrong ?", I asked her back confused.

"You need to always have kungumam on your forehead. You're married remember", she reminded me.

I giggled and quickly applied some kungumam on my forehead.

"Btw get ready into the red saree okay", Amma said while leaving the room.

"Wait ma.. why ?", I asked dragging her inside the room again.

"It's your first night Shivu. Don't ask silly questions", she replied.

"What ? Today itself ?", I asked in shock.

"Of course, tonight is a auspicious night", she said leaving the room again.

"But..maa", I tried to stop her but she left.

I know we have to do it someday, but I didn't want it to be this soon. I don't know why but I just don't want to take it so fast. I want to live my precious moments with Ashwin. But if he wants it, then I will agree to that.

Amma helped me to get ready into the red saree. She glammed me up with some jewellery and jasmine flowers for my hair. I don't even know how they think this is a comfortable outfit for a first night. I just followed her instruction without arguing.

Then, it was time. I was sent to Ashwin's room by Mia and the girls. They were joking about what's gonna happen tonight. I entered his room and closed the door. I was awestruck when I saw how fast they decorated the room with flowers and lights. It made me giggle. Then I saw Ashwin, sitting on the bed in his veshti sattai and looking down.

"Ehh hemm" I cleared my throat and he looked up.

"Hey beautiful", he said smiling.

I blushed. I went sit beside him. It was awkward even thought we've spent many nights talking. It was definitely a weird feeling.

"We're married", Ashwin broke the silence.

"Yeah right can you believe it ?", I replied in excitement.

"I'm a husband and you're a wife. Wow it surely feels weird", he laughed.

"And look, I got my thali. Have you looked at it ? It's beautiful. It's a part of you", I said holding my thali.

"I will make you happy everyday Shivu. I swear, I will love you till my last breath", he said holding my hand.

"I know Ash", I replied pecking a kiss on his hand.

For a reply, he kissed me on my cheek. I blushed. He continued to kiss me on my eyes, nose and made his way down to my neck. I closed my eyes enjoying his touch. He caressed my cheeks and looked into my eyes with full of love. He put his hand on my waist and slowly caressed it while placing a deep passionate kiss on my lips.

I know I didn't want this happen fast, but at that moment, I was was happy and wanted to make him happy. Ashwin broke the kiss while still caressing my cheeks. Our faces were still too close.

"Go change to something comfortable to sleep", he whispered as he kissed on my cheek.

"Sleep?", I asked him confusion.

"I know this is too fast for you Shivu. It is for me too. We have our whole life together. Let's enjoy our life a little before jumping into this", he said cupping my face.

His words made me cry, but it was happy tears. He wiped my tears and told me to get changed. We both got changed and hopped on the bed to sleep.

"It feels really illegal to be sleeping together right", I said.

"It sure does, after all the time I sneaked into your room. I don't have to do that anymore", he laughed.

I was in Ashwin's arm, I rested my head on his chest, he brushed my hair until we both eventually fell asleep. First night spent just how I wanted.
