Pyro and the Hulk (book 2: B. Banner X OC)

The kids all ran inside and I helped Laura with dinner since it was about to get dark in a few hours.

After we ate Nick talks to the whole team as we sit around. The kids pop up every now and then to show us the drawing that we had made. Nat was sat at the table with Bruce and I. I was sat on Bruce's lap. While Steve leant against the fall and Tony was playing darts by himself.

"Ultron took you folks out of play to buy himself time. My contacts all say he's building something. The amount of Vibranium he made off with, I don't think it's just one thing."

"What about Ultron himself?" Steve questions when Nick stops speaking and makes himself a drink. 

"Oh, he's easy to track. he's everywhere. The guy is multiplying faster then a Catholic rabbit. It still doesn't help us get an angle on any of his plans, though."

"Is he still going after launch codes?" 

"Yes he is. but he's not making any headway."

"I cracked the Pentagon's fire wall in high school on a dare."

"Um, Tony, sweetie was he supposed to know that?" I question him with a smirk. He's eyes widen slightly before he curses under his breath. 

Nick shakes his head, not wanting to go into that right now and continues on. "Well, I contacted our friends at the Nexus about that."

"Nexus?"

"It's the world internet hub in Oslo. Every byte of data flows through there. Fastest access on Earth." Bruce informs the confused puppy that is Steve Rogers.

"So, what did they say?" Clint speaks up, looking at one of the darts in his hand, his question directed at Nick. "He's fixated on the missiles. But the codes are constantly being changed."

"By whom?" Tony asks only to flinch back when Clint throws his dart at the board, barely missing Tony who was standing in front of it. Tony turns and glares at Clint making the blonde shrug his shoulder innocently. 

"Parties unknown"

"Uncle Clint. Do you have a spare battery mine's dead." Jace walks up to Clint holding one of his hearing aids. I lean my head back on Bruce's shoulder and groan when I realise what it was I had forgotten to pack. 

"Sure bud." Clint pull a small box from the draw next to him and takes out one of his batteries for his hearing aids and passes it to Jace. He ruffles my son's hair before Jace walks over to me. He climbs onto my lap and he put the battery in and turns his head while holding out the small device to me. 

He always preferred when I put his hearing aids in. I smile and kiss his cheek before putting the device into place. "Do we have an ally?" Nat asks and Jace turns in my lap to look at his godmother. I see Laura in the living room pick up a sleeping Lilly. She sees me and points the the room that Bruce and I were using, silently asking if it was okay, I nod letting her know that it was and she continues on her way. 

"Ultron's got an enemy. That's not the same thing. Still, I'd pay folding money to know who it it."

"I might need to visit Oslo. Find our unknown." Tony says as he leans on the doorway.

"Well, this is good times, boss, But I was kind of hoping when I saw you, You'd have more then that." Nat says somewhat sassily and Nick gives a slightly offended look.

"I do. I have you. Back in the da, I had eyes everywhere. Wars, everywhere else. You kids had all the tech you could dream up. Here we all are, back on Earth, with nothing but our wit and our will to save the world. Ultron says the Avengers are the only thing between him and his mission. And whether or not he admits it, his mission is global destruction. All this, laid in a grave. So stand. Outwit the platinum bastard."

"Steve doesn't like that kind of talk." Nat looks to Steve with a smirk and a brow raised. 

"You know what, Romanoff?" Steve gives her a mock glare making the red haired Russian smirk more.

"So what does he want?" Nick asks trying to get us back on track. I tell them to pause the conversation for a moment when i feel Jace fall asleep. I lift him into my arms and move him into the bed room. Laying him next to Lilly I kiss both of their foreheads and smile when them immediately hug each other after feeling the extra body heat.

I go back and take my place on Bruce's lap. "Okay continue"

"To become better. Better than us. He keeps building bodies."

"Person bodies. The human form in inefficient. Biologically speaking, we're outmoded. But he keep coming back to it."

A thought clicks in my brain and I sit up straighter. "Where's Helen?" The others turn to me and it seems to click for them too. 

"He's after the cradle" Bruce's tone is thoughtful. Everyone then jumps up and rush out of the room saying something about gearing up.  Bruce turns to me as we both stand up. "I'm going to go back to the tower. You going to be okay." 

"Yes. Stay safe?" He nods and kiss before he goes off to get changed before he can fully disappear Nick shout out. "I'll drop you off" Bruce nods in thanks before leaving.  

"Here." Nick hands me the briefcase. I place it on the table and open it. Inside was one of the suits I had Tori make. I smile when I see it. 

Closing it I turn my attention to Nick. "Thank you. I want you to take Lilly with you. If Ultron can invade technology I wont risk putting my daughter in a suit. Keep her with you."

"Yes ma'am." I lead him to the bedroom and he carefully wakes Lilly while I take my suit to the bathroom to get changed. Leaving the brief case on the bedside table. When I walk out Lilly rushes to me and hugs me tight. "Stay safe Momma."

"I will baby. Stay with your uncle Nick. I'll come get you when its all over." She leaves with Nick and I get Jace up so he can get dressed. 

I grab the briefcase and Jace's hand and take him out to the jet, where Nat, Clint and Steve were waiting. Tony went to Nexus.
