What is that? Ned thought, walking down the sidewalk. Across the street, something shining had caught his eye. It was hard to make out the yellow letters that were partly in the shiny spot, and the constant blur of traffic and pedestrians only added to the mess obstructing his vision. As he walked, watching that box on the wall, it looked like it said "It came of flies" but that obviously was not it. Getting an idea, Ned suddenly returned his attention to the path in front of him just in time to avoid the large metal post coming at him. He quickly recovered to look for the nearest crosswalk. It would be a shortcut to his destination anyway, after backtracking so far.
