Putin stationed 200,000 troops at Ukraine's border, and finally made a move after months of unrest and suspense. People are fleeing the country to take shelter in Moldova and surrounding lands. After one day, dozens are already dead. Is there any way to help? No, as any move against Russia will be consudered an act of war. It is undetermined exactly what Putin aims to achieve from invading Ukraine. However, a look at the country's benefits shows that other than Russia, Ukraine borders six European countries. Having this easy access may be an advantage to stage a military base in the event of a war.

So far in the Russia/Ukraine conflict, more deaths have been counted and more residents have fled. Russia completely destroyed a Ukranian airport, and plan to move in on Odessa. More unrest has been caused between other countries' governments, as leaders have become more public about their opinions on Putin. Russians have started protesting in Serbia, Russia, and wherever else they are against this whole issue, but it has unfortunately not made much of a difference. Others from the US and sympathizing countries can only donate to the cause, voice their opinions, and offer shelter to the refugees.

Donating also might be biased, since no one really knows or has proof where the money goes. Sources other than the highly manipulable popular news broadcasters suggest that Ukranians fleeing are not only hindered by the Russians, but also the Ukranian military. Soldiers are guarding the borders, turning civilians away from the possible escape routes and forcing them to help fight for the country. Proof like this shows that no amount of money sent can help those trapped. In the rest of the world, Russian oligarchs' possessions worth a few million or more are being seized and sold to accumulate funds for Ukraine's repair after the unforseeable end to the conflict.
