The Banquet
Setting the centerpiece on the last of thirty decorated tables, Ned stood back to admire his work. They all looked fairly similar, but needed to have the programs and certain brochures deposited in each seat. This was the hard part, as the papers and cardstock were all very slippery, and combined with the vinyl seat covers made a hard job. He left to get help, gathering the boxes of each of the materials on his way. Above, behind, and to the sides, other volunteers were putting out food, displays, advertisements, and managing the technological components of the fundraiser. They were in no hurry as the event was to begin the following day, leaving a good amount of time to prepare all that could be done this far prior.
