"And then Joe blasted Bramble's head at the Mega-Gorblus, and they both disappeared like: poof!" Ariana mimed a mini explosion with her hands.

Ruth set another plate of homemade cookies on the kitchen table with a kind smile on her wrinkled face. "That's a very intense story. Sounds like you had quite the adventure, dears."

"It was nuts," Jenna said while chewing one of Ruth's cookies. "You wouldn't believe all the straw that was on the ground after we got rid of that army of scarecrows. It looked like a farm during the apocalypse."

"Oh, I've seen a good amount of straw-covered ground in my days, dearie," Ruth said, gently pushing up her glasses. "So, what's next for you all?"

"Hopefully some peace and quiet," Daniel said. "If I can make it to four years without anything weird happening to me, I'll be glad."

"I've been thinking about asking Chaps if there's any way for me to return to Yarn World," Leo said. He took a big gulp of milk with the arm that wasn't in a cast. "I wouldn't mind visiting Stitches and seeing how he's doing."

"I think I'll stick with Mom that day," Ariana said. "I'm with Uncle Danny; I've had enough of this interdimensional stuff for a while. That said, if you ever need anyone in the future to pummel more scarecrows, I'm your gal."

Jenna smiled behind Ariana, patting her blonde hair. "That's my little scarecrow murderer."

Leo grabbed another cookie from the plate, but then realized his glass was empty. Ruth offered to get him more milk, but he declined and got it for himself. When he sat back down, he found himself stuck with the sun in his eyes. He squinted at it through the kitchen window for a moment before turning back to his family, dipping his cookie in the milk as he contributed to their conversations.
