Hannah sat by the Christmas tree; it was the one part of the year she genuinely loved. She had invited her father over to Alytain's house to celebrate Christmas with them.

She hated knowing she left her father alone in his house, she hated that she felt like she was distancing herself from the man who did everything he could to raise her alone.

There was only two Christmas presents under the tree and both were for Hannah's father.

Alytain wasn't a holiday person, he wasn't a grinch either, but Christmas just wasn't for him. He couldn't even remember a time that he had spent a time home during Christmas, probably when he was thirteen than after that Christmas became nothing for him.

Even though Hannah had tried her hardest to get him to play along for her, Alytain still refused. He stayed in his usual get up of fitted jeans and a shirt.

She couldn't even convince him to stay away from his home studio for just one day, she sighed as she looked at the empty Christmas decorated space in her lounge room.

Hannah looked up at the door as she heard a knock, she waddled over. Her pregnancy was starting to take its toll on her body.

A smile beamed across her face as she opened the front door "Daddy!" She wrapped her arms tight around him.

Bill squeezed his daughter tight in his arms, he could feel her bump stopping him from hugging her closer to him.

"It's just you and I." Hannah sighed as she slowly pulled out of his grasp to allow him to step into the house.

Bill heard it in her tone, she seemed miserable even though she presented herself as if she wasn't "We'll do what we always do."

Hannah smiled as she closed the front door.

The two of them didn't skip a beat as Hannah showed him the Christmas display in the lounge room "It's the only part of the house decorated."

"Just like at home." Bill mentioned as he stared at the Christmas decorations that he assumed Hannah had done all by herself.

Hannah took it as a compliment as her father noticed the tree, he noticed the extreme amount of tinsel as it tried to hide the lack of ornaments.

Bill shifted his attention to Hannah as she half heartedly shrugged "It'll do, my love."

Hannah lets a small laugh slip through her lips "I know."

"Oh. We have company." Alytain's voice almost ruined the moment.

Hannah shifted her attention over to her baby's father "I did tell you my dad was coming over."

"Oh, yeah. Right." Alytain seemed distracted "Food's cooking, right?"

Bill watched at how Alytain seemed to be missing the care factor for this moment.

Hannah rolled her eyes "Does it look like I'm going to cook."

"Well than what are we eating?"

Bill watched his daughter; she had the strength to fight back when she needed to.

"Alytain, please don't."

"What? I'm not doing anything."

Hannah rested herself down on the lounge "Just go back to your studio."

"No." Alytain sounded like he was taking a stance.

Hannah tried to hide her annoyed gaze from her father.

"I want to spend the night with the two of you." There was a hint of genuine interest in Alytain's tone.

Annoyance disappeared from Hannah's posture as Alytain sat down next to her.

Bill sat with uncertainty across from his daughter "You did a great job, sweetheart."

"Thanks dad."

Bill watched as Alytain laid an arm around Hannah's shoulder.
