Belle pushed open the front door, she sighed as she heard her daughter's voice "Get off me, Harley!"
"I'm not on you!"
"DAD!" Meredith's voice shrieked.
Belle allowed herself to step into the lounge room, she saw her son sitting squashed on the corner of the lounge as his sister was on the phone while she stood on the lounge cushions.
"Meredith, that's enough." Belle let her fed up tone fill the lounge room.
"Dad's on the phone." Harley sighed as he shifted his gaze to his mother.
"Phone, now. Meredith." Belle reached out her hand.
"But it's dad."
"I don't care. You know the rules."
Meredith jumped off the lounge "Bye daddy."
"Bye princess." Belle heard as she put the phone to her ear "Really, Alytain?" She walked out of the lounge room before stopping "Don't stir your brother up, Meredith!" She could hear her daughter pout and knew no doubt that Harley would be poking his tongue out to his sister.
"What? I wanted to talk to the kids. I'm bored."
"And you don't have a line up of anything in front of you?" Belle chose her words carefully as she walked up the stairs.
"Babe, don't be like that."
"Alytain, the kids haven't seen you in six months. Their sick of not seeing their father. So don't hide in that hotel telling me that your bored. You know where we are." Belle closed her bedroom door before sitting down on the bed, she kicked off her running shoes.
"Come on, You know you can bring the kids up."
"To where? America? Asia? You won't be there by the time we get there, so what's the point of forcing the kids to travel around the world only for you to be gone?" Belle looked at her sweaty expression in the vanity mirror, her cheeks flustered with a mix of heat and frustration.
"Fuck, Belle. What's up your ass?"
She knew her husband wouldn't get it, he never did.
"Look, I miss the kids. Alright? Is that so wrong to confess."
"No." She allowed defeat to fill her voice "We miss you too, but you know where we are Alytain. You've known where we are since 2004, I'm done pulling the kids around. They've finally settled here. I've settled here." She sighed "You've got a break coming up, right? So, come down here. Come spend a few weeks with us."
"Babe."
"Alytain." Belle could tell she was going to lose this battle.
