𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐗: 𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐒𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑'𝐒 𝐊𝐄𝐄𝐏𝐄𝐑
𝐒𝐋𝐄𝐄𝐏 𝐈𝐒 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃. Sleep is what gives the beautiful cracks and pops of her bones waking up. Sleep is what creates the sweet relief of water quenching a desert mouth. Sleep is what heals all injuries that simply needed rest. So imagine Maggie's relief at waking up on the cool floor of the drop ship in the middle of the day after a night of pain and fever. She gulped down the cup of water that was next to her and took a bite of the fruit that was next to it.
She was a bit too lazy to get up, so she waited about a minute or two. She found herself reminiscing about her past life on the Ark.
She met Marcus Kane purely by chance. She was babysitting Abby Griffin's little girl, Clarke. They were playing a game of tag, and Maggie had her home-made sunglasses perched on her head when she was running after the blonde. Magnolia, being the insufficient and clumsy bitch she was, stumbled over nothing, making her sunnies superman-pose through the air only to land at the toes of the very councilman, Marcus Kane. He had only raised an eyebrow at the girl who crossed her arms and held her head high. He picked up the metal glasses. Inspected them. Looked at Maggie. Looked at the glasses.
"Are these yours?" he'd then asked. Maggie fought the urge to roll her eyes, but she didn't fight what came out of her mouth.
"Considering they catapulted from my head, I think it's safe to say that they are indeed mine."
He would never tell anyone, but Maggie could see the impressed look in his eyes at the fact that she had to audacity to talk back to a council member. He threw the glasses at her, and she caught them, slipping them back on her head. The blonde girl was looking on with a little confusion. Marcus outstretched his arm in the invitation of a walk.
"Walk with me a moment, will you please..." he drew out, desiring her name.
"Magnolia Fields."
"Factory Station?"
"Indeed."
"Interesting."
Since then, tag game forgotten, Marcus Kane took a shining to the girl. He taught her all about the Ark, everything that went on behind the scenes. She absorbed every bit of it. She enjoyed learning about the place she lived.
Fast forward a year, and it was now time for that special part of any child's life, the Unity Day masquerade party, where a bunch of teenagers dress up, drink till there's nothing left, and make stupid decisions. So, obviously, Maggie just had to go. Partly because she enjoyed it, and partly because she hadn't been seeing too much of her good friends, the Blake's for a while. So when she saw a familiar head of hair, it was safe to say that she was a little bit shocked. She approached Bellamy who was guarding the party. He noticed her.
"Good evening, Miss Fields."
"What is Via doing here?"
"Celebrating her first moon rise and Unity Day, what's wrong with that?"
