Chapter 3

Trine Rees

I woke up in the morning with the thought of today. Today is my first day at my new job. I got a bright smile at the thought of serving the people which is my dream. I made my way to the washroom to freshen up. After I cleaned myself, I dressed in a professional way to look presentable at work. I made my way downstairs and heard the voices of mom and dad as they were discussing random stuff, as it is a daily routine for them.

"Good morning mom, dad" I greeted them and kissed their cheeks.

"Morning sweetie" "Morning princess" they greeted me back. "Ready for today?" mom asked. "Yes mom" I said. "All the best princess" my dad wished me good luck while I thanked him. I had my breakfast and made my way to my car and went to work as I don't want to get late on the first day.

As soon as I reached the hospital, I was greeted by the people who were busy in their own world. Well I need to adjust to my new life now, I thought. This hospital is more than I heard. People are everywhere, some are patients, some are doctors, nurses, they are running around the campus to get to their work, And patients are out for a walk in the garden with their concerned nurse. I made my way to the reception to know where I will be working.

"Good morning miss" I greeted her. "Good morning ma'am. How may I help you? " she asked. "I am Trine Rees, I am appointed as a new doctor here. May I know whom I should meet?" I inquired. "Oh, give me a second ma'am" she said and asked someone over the phone about the information I said. After a minute of talk she hung up the phone with a smile. "Ma'am, go straight and take left, go to the chief cabin at the end of the corridor. You can ask the chief assistant there" she said, I immediately thanked her and made my way to the chief cabin.

I saw a middle aged woman there and introduced myself. "Good morning miss, I am Trine Rees, I was asked to contact the chief assistant" I asked her, hoping she is the one. "Good morning, Miss Rees. I am the one you're looking for. Welcome to the family of Hamilton's hospital. I am Alyse Ozanne" she said with a smile and extended her hand for a handshake and I gladly accepted it and returned the smile. "The chief is in a surgery, he will meet you when the surgery is completed. Till then I will show you your cabin" she said and started walking as I followed her behind. She stopped near a cabin and that is when I noticed my nameplate on the door 'TRINE REES' 'MBBS' it says. Miss Ozanne opened the door for me. "Please" she said and I entered my cabin.

"Miss Rees, I'll send you your Id card. As today is your first day there is nothing much for you to do. First you need to meet the chief but it may take some time because he is in a very important surgery" she said with a smile. "Thank you Miss Ozanne. No problem, I'll wait. Just inform me when he is available so that I can know about my work" I said with a smile. "Sure, have a nice day Miss Rees" she said. "Have a nice day to you too Miss Ozanne" I said. She responded with a smile and left my cabin.

I took a good look at my cabin and found that there is nothing much in this as there is a desk and a swivel chair in the middle of the room and two chairs in front of the table, on top of the desk there is a computer, beside it, a pen stand is placed with notepads, a showpiece is also placed at the center of the table and there is a washroom at the corner. The room is painted in white color and the wall behind the desk has a cream color paint with a wavy design on it. There are three photo frames about the sayings of doctors on the right and two photo frames of women paintings on the left. There is also a landline on the desk. All in all the cabin is simple but I liked it, though my favourite color is pink.

I just set my desk in a proper order according to my taste as I don't have many things with me. I have nothing to do today so I took my mobile to check my social media accounts because I have not been active for many days due to my exams. I am not a public person, I like to keep my life private so I don't use these accounts much, only to get the updates of the world and stuff that's it.

I heard that the chief here is a cold hearted person. He doesn't go easy if anyone is reckless in their work, it may be anything. He hates girls, well, even I hate boys, so it's even. He is a perfectionist. Well, this is all I heard about him. I heard he is super handsome, but I least care about it. I really don't care. This is all I heard when I was having my lunch.

I observed one thing here that people don't have time to talk to other people except for their lunch break. Well, this is an advantage for me because I don't socialize with people. You can call me a nerd but I least care about it. No offense.

Miss Ozanne said the chief is available now and I can meet him. I made my way to his cabin and knocked on the door.

"Come in" I heard a deep, tired but sexy voice. Well I have to admit that even though I hate boys, this voice seems like something. I shrugged off my thoughts and opened the door.
