Chapter 9

I quickly ordered my lunch and had it. I was waiting for her in my cabin so that we could go together to the surgery. I heard a knock and immediately stood up as if making her think I was ready to leave and did something nonsense just to distract myself from her. I asked her to come in and she entered. She cleared her throat but I did not look at her because I wanted to hear her voice. I don't know why but I just want to hear her sweet voice. When she called out my name it was emotionless so I frowned slightly hearing that. Can't she call my name sweetly, she and her attitude. Urgh!!!

We left the cabin and she was following me, I turned my head slightly to see what she was doing. She was focused on her mobile so I stopped abruptly and she bumped into me. I patted myself internally that she did not doubt me and I acted as if I was annoyed. When she said sorry it was just a mere whisper I couldn't even hear her sweet voice, I frowned at her for not being audible but didn't say anything and continued to OT.

By the time we reached OT, Dr. Isamu Fensby was already in his surgery costumes so we went and changed to surgery costumes as well. When I was checking everything Dr. Fensby came to my side and asked why I brought her as she is not needed because this surgery should be done only by us. I just told him that she is a fresh graduate and needs to learn more about this before she does surgeries on her own. He gave me a suspicious look but said nothing.

I know about that look because when he is present for the surgery I usually don't need any assistant and I never bought any of my junior when he was there. I thought to myself that he did not buy my reason. I shrugged it off because I really don't care what people think of me. I concentrated on the task to be done.

While performing the surgery I stole glances at her and saw Dr. Fensby gave an impressed look to her. I don't know why but I felt proud of her for being calm and composed.

While she was busy observing everything keenly I just moved to her side where we were just inches away. When she saw me she made distance between us and carried on with her work.

I mentally slapped myself for being childish around her.

Don't you guys dare to think that I got distracted from the surgery because I never take chances when it comes to people's lives. I was doing my job as well as trying to get her attention.

Shushh!!! Please don't tell anyone about this because I am not sure why I was trying to get her attention.

We completed the surgery and I went to my cabin to take a rest when Dr. Fensby was talking to the patient's relatives that everything went well and will shift him soon to the ward.
