Chapter 7

Bryant Hamilton

There was a knock on my door. "Come in" I said and the girl I was avoiding entered the room.

"Good morning Mr. Hamilton" she said and I could only nod at her because no words came out of my mouth seeing her. It was like I was hypnotized by her. She cleared her throat that is when I came out of the trance. "Mr. Hamilton the surgery..." she trailed off. I got what she wanted to ask so I nodded and told her "Yes, let's go".

We proceeded to the operation theatre, by the time we reached there everything was already set up by my assistant. We changed into surgery costumes and started the surgery.

"Ms. Rees, you know all the instruments, right?" I asked and she nodded. "Great. You just need to handle the instruments when I ask and observe the process so you will be getting an idea on how to perform these types of surgeries" I told her and she obediently nodded her head.

I started the surgery and stole glances at her as she observed the process keenly. I was impressed by her performance to how quickly she reacted when I asked for the instruments. She didn't even stumble when she handed me the instruments unlike the others who worked under me. I must admit that she will be a great doctor if she is in this way, calm and composed. A doctor fails when he is panicked in emergency situations.

After the surgery I went to my cabin and asked my assistant to send Ms. Rees to my cabin.

I was checking the patient's file when I heard a knock on the door. I know that she is the one who knocked so I immediately went to the floor to ceiling window and turned towards it holding the file in my hand pretending to be distracted. I don't know why I did that childish stunt but felt like I should not show to her that she is affecting me. I cleared my throat and asked her to come in.

When the door opened my heartbeat suddenly increased but I composed myself at the right time.

She cleared her throat and said "Mr. Hamilton?" to get my attention. I did not turn to face her because I will just go into a trance after seeing her so I just replied to her without facing her "Yes, Ms. Rees I called you to say that you did a great job during the surgery but need to maintain the same progress every time" "Thank Mr. Hamilton" she said.

"One more thing Ms. Rees, there is another surgery in a few minutes, have your lunch and get back immediately" I told her in an icy cold voice to sound authoritative.

Actually she is not needed in this surgery but I don't know why I asked her to come. I think my mouth has a mind that just slipped on it's own without knowing me. I collected my thoughts to control my heart and mind which are out of control around her.
