I don't know how much time I sat there thinking about her, I was cut off from the chain of thoughts by the knock on my door.
I opened the door and saw my brother with a teasing grin. I knew what was about to come so I just ignored him. "What?" I questioned him.
"If you have time everyone likes to see you in the living room" he said and pressed his lips into thin line to control his smile.
"Ofcourse, I'm free. I was just doing some work related to hospital. I'll be there" I told him.
"Sure brother you were doing hospital related work. I did not ask you what you were doing then why are you giving an explanation?" he said, wiggling his eyebrows.
I just glared at him. Although, he was right because I never give an explanation for anyone no matter what then why now?
"Sorry brother" he said and raised his hands in the air as if surrendering and walked away.
I went inside my room, turned off the laptop and took my mobile. I made my way downstairs to the living room. When I reached, everyone was present and talking happily. I love to see my family in this way.
I went and sat beside my grandma on the couch, I leaned my head on her shoulder and hugged her. I love to be with my grandma because she is my best friend.
Everyone was chatting happily and recalling their old days when suddenly my dad called everyone's attention.
"I have to tell you all something. I met one of my childhood friend recently at a party and invited him for lunch with his family next week" he said.
"That's rear" my mom said, surprised. Yep, my dad never invites anyone to our house. He invites only those who are special to him. I got his genes, that's why we don't have many friends. We talk with many people but only professionally. Now, I'm curious who this special person can be?
"But why didn't you invite him today?" my mom asked. "I did but he said that he already planned an outing with his family today so he will be coming next week" my dad answered and my mom nodded in understanding.
"I'll prepare lunch today" my dad declared. "I'll help you dad" I said. "Me too" Issai raised his hand. My dad looked at us for a while before nodding.
We went to the kitchen to prepare lunch. I and Issai helped dad in chopping vegetables and giving the required ingredients while talking about our lives. We share everything. My dad is our best advisor.
We prepared a simple lunch. For starters it is spring rolls, main course is lasagna and spaghetti and for dessert it is chocolate brownie.
We arranged everything on the dining table. Mom, grandpa and grandma came and settled in their chairs. We served them and took our seats as well. We served for ourselves and looked at them for the review of our hard work.
I lost my patience and asked them instead, "How is it?". The three of them looked at each other before giving an approving nod.
"Ofcourse, it will taste good because I prepared it" my dad said proudly. "Yeah dad yeah" I told him.
