I'm so sorry for the long wait, but from now on updates will come twice a week since I decided to write shorter chapters.
I hope you enjoy the update and stay excited for the next one!

"What's your position, Fox?"
"Two meters from entry point."
"Hawk, how many?"
"Two. Leaving in five, four, three, two, one. Now!"
Without making any sound the shinobi moved simultaneously, leaving their hideouts.
Crouching in front of the heavily protected door, Naruto quickly brushed over the seals, breaking them with a simple touch, the move as simple and ingrained as breathing after a month of training.
"Hurry up, Fox," whispered the pink-haired girl anxiously, looking cautiously down the dark corridor.
"One minute, dobe." Sasuke kept his eyes closed, frowning under the strain of sensing the entire floor for ANBU patrols. "A team is coming in ten, nine, eight-"
"Got it!"
Hastily the children squeezed inside, the blond jinchuuriki sealing the door behind them superficially within a second. Sighing, he slouched against the wall, wiping his sweaty forehead. They had mastered the first hurdle – entering the secret Hokage vault without being noticed – now they only had to find an answer to the reason they first made such a risky decision and leave unnoticed as well.
"Let's split up," whispered Sakura, glancing through the dark room. "Fox, you take the right side; Hawk, you take the left; and I'll take the middle. Find the files, exchange them with the fake ones, and regroup in ten. Hawk, keep an eye on the chakra signatures."
Nodding sharply, the Gennin split up, silently wandering through the room, and looking through the crammed and overflowing shelves.
There were thousands of files; old ones and new ones and ones that looked like they had been drowned in blood before being put in here. None of the Gennin really knew what they were looking for, the entire operation being built on the desperate wish of finding anything really that would complete the confusing puzzle of Naruto's parentage.
Team 7's prohibition was coming to an end and soon they would be swamped with missions again. There would likely never be such a good opportunity like now, at least not in the near future. The team was already watched closely due to their nature – with one being the village's jinchuuriki, another being the last of the Hatake and a legendary ANBU Captain, then the heir of the Uchiha Clan and the Clan Head herself, and lastly an unknown civilian girl that was said to be the second coming of the Uchiha Chiasa – and when they'd reach the rank of Chunnin it would only get worse. Both of their senseis had warned them and told them the truth about their standing in the village. They didn't just have to fear the enemies from outside but also from their own village. The shadows had already tried to invade their home a few times.
The place Chiasa and Kakashi had built for them as a place to come home to had become a fortress, a safe haven, protected by not only Uzumaki seals but also the blood wards of the Hatake and the Uchiha. The small patch of land was probably the most protected place in the entire village, perhaps even the entire Land of Fire.
The Council had been quiet for a long time, and it made the Jounin of the Pack nervous, something they had tried to hide form the children but for nought.
That and the fact that the Godaime still hadn't told them a single thing about the blond's parents since their meeting almost a month ago, had led Team 7 to make their move now; unknown by even their senseis, that were deep asleep back in the compound.
