Helplessly, Chiasa held Itachi's hand until his heart ceased to beat and the skin beneath her fingers grew cold. She was numb when she took her little brother's eyes, sealing them behind the strongest seal she knew together with the crushed piece of paper that contained the proof of the wrongdoing of her birthplace.
Gently, she closed his eyelids, the sight of empty eye sockets unbearable.
She didn't feel anything when she started the ancient Uchiha burial tradition. She couldn't think a clear thought as she formed a gorgeous phoenix, the fire shimmering in all tones of red, orange, and yellow. She would never forget the moment her brother's body got engulfed by the flames that burned in the heart of every Uchiha and the wind picked up, dancing around the siblings with the anger and regret they each carried, and the rain intensified like even the kami mourned the loss of this soul.
Only when nothing was left and her fires had ebbed, collapsed Chiasa and felt again.
The rain bit into her skin like needles and she screamed and cried until the taste of blood was all she knew. But still, she clawed at the dirt with her bare fingers nails like that which was lost had broken her - because it had.
Her hitai-sate slipped from her forehead, the stainless steal mirroring her bloodshot eyes when lightning crossed the sky, illuminating the darkness for a moment. Looking up, Chiasa screamed furiously, the flock of crows dispersing into the darkness at the guttural sound and even Fumiko trembled at the anger in her partner's voice.
"I am coming for all the monsters that ever touched him, I am coming for all the ones who twisted his stars into shadows, they turned him into a nightmare, so I am going to be theirs," she vowed.
In the middle of burnt ruins with thunder and lightning as witnesses a monster was unleashed, starving for its prey's blood and with only one goal. To avenge her precious one.
It was the moment the Elemental Nation would be reminded of the horror Uchiha Madara had left wherever he walked.
Slowly, Chiasa put one foot in front of the other, in no hurry to reach the village. Her prey could run all it wanted; in the end she would catch it anyway. There was no escaping form her fury.
At each of her step's thunder boomed across the sky as if warning of the danger that was coming steadily.
In Konoha, Kurama sat up in his mindscape, the smell of anger and hatred heavier and more murderous than anything he had seen in decades. Beneath the stench, he could smell the familiar scent of sweet flowers. It was out of character for him but nevertheless the bijuu worried about the Uchiha kit that had apologized to him, the first one to actually mean it.
It had been more than a month since their first meeting, and he was proud to say he had a handful of civilized conversation with the kit's pack. It would be sad to lose that so soon.
A couple of meters from where he had lost the first of her brothers, Chiasa met a squad of Kumo shinobi, the group freezing in fear under the killing intent surrounding the lone kunoichi. No hitai-ate showed her connection but the burning red eyes were enough to push the thought of Uchiha into their minds.
Silently, Chiasa stopped, eyeing the squad carelessly. After a moment she continued her journey peacefully. She would not desecrate her brother's resting place by spilling their blood. Her brother had seen enough of that already. He deserved his peace.
"No blood shall be shed in this place. Return home."
When the kunoichi was out of sight, the squad collapsed, panting heavily as air filled their lungs.
"What just happened?" hissed a Jounin, holding his throat.
Soberly, the Captain murmured: "We were spared. That was Uchiha Chiasa, the kunoichi that escaped Yugito and Bee years ago. The heiress of the Uchiha clan. They say once a beast has awoken it won't rest until its most heartfelt desire is fulfilled. We have to report to A-sama immediately."
