OMG guys! I've finished writing 'Someone you loved' today! Argh! I'm so happy, but also so sad that it's over!
Anyway, there will be a couple of updates today, so make sure you read this chapter before the others!
Love you all, Stella

They came in the morning; quicker and greater in numbers than anyone could have expected.
Kakashi snapped from his light sleep, frantically glancing through the room when the ground shook for the first time. The silver-haired Jounin clutched the kunoichi's body tightly, protecting her with his own body when dust and plaster fell off the ceiling. The shaking stopped and the first thing he did was to check on the unconscious woman. Only when he was certain that everything was as it was supposed to be did he slouch down, sighing in relief. His hand softly caressed her cheek, wiping it clean from her velvety hair and the dust.
Not a minute later an ANBU dropped in, silently and stone-faced as he stared at the Hatake, feeling unsettled by the pair of feral, mismatched eyes peeking out from beneath the shock of silver hair.
"No," growled Kakashi, knowing what the ANBU wanted but refusing anyway.
"Hokage-sama awaits you. The village is under attack."
Furiously, he shook his head, torn between going and staying. Chiasa needed protection, especially if they were under attack, but he also would never be able to forgive himself if something happened to his friends because he stayed.
Seconds passed without him being able to make a choice and screams erupted outside as another earthquake hit the village.
"You have a duty," accused the ANBU harshly. "You took an oath to protect your village! ANBU Hound!"
Snarling, Kakashi glared at the ANBU. He knew precisely that he had a duty... a duty to his pack.
Suddenly, one of Tsunade's slug summons appeared on Chiasa's hospital bed, preventing a clash between the two shinobi.
"Kakashi-san," she said sympathetic. "Lady Tsunade apologizes but we need you. It's the last of the Akatsuki. Madara, Zetsu, and Orochimaru and his army of modified shinobi."
Madara.
The monster that had destroyed his world.
The name alone filled the Hatake with unrestrained hatred and fury. Glancing between the kunoichi and the direction of the Hokage Tower, he was still unable to choose, terrified of choosing wrong again. It was Hound that made the call, the desire for revenge too big.
Pulling down his mask, Kakashi leaned down, fingers curled into long, dark hair as he pressed his lips to Chiasa's, long and soft until the need to breathe was too big to ignore. Thumbs brushing over her cheeks, carving the fine structure of her face into his memory, he whispered softly: "I'll be back, Hime."
Looking back at the slug, he demanded: "You'll watch over her, right?"
The silent 'at least until I'll find someone else' was clearly heard but the slug nodded, nevertheless.
"Of course."
With a last uncertain glance at the sleeping beauty Kakashi took a step towards the window, looking back again as if he feared the woman would disappear in thin air as soon as he looked away.
"Hound." The ANBU warned.
Shaking his head, he banished any leftover doubts and hauled himself over the windowsill, landing on his feet and running towards the Hokage Tower. First, Madara than he could watch over her again and tell her how stupid that letter was. They would get their happy ending in this life. Somehow.
