(22)Best Date... At the Beach

*I'm sorry this chapter is horrible*

(The Friday after there date) Ej's POV

Ever since our date Ricky and I have been hanging out basically everyday after musical practice. At first the movies were an excuse too hang out but after we watched Ironman 2 he started to actually ask me when we were watching the next one. So I was surprised when he said that we were going on a date that didn't involve watching movies. Once it was finally Friday I couldn't really focus during class, every time I would ask him this week what we were doing the date he just changed the subject or just shrugged and stayed silent. So when Friday afternoon came around I was confused when Ricky told me too drive too both of our houses. So after he traded his school backpack for a old one he had, he told me too drive too mine. After we arrived he told me too stay here, which confused me even more. 

Grabbing his had I stop him before saying "What are we doing?" Too this he just says "Do you trust me? Do you give me permission too grab some stuff from your room?" Confused I study his face before saying "yes". After I sat there and watched as he climbed out of the car and ran towards my house. A couple minutes later he came out with one of my old backpacks over his shoulder. As he got in I tried too grab it but he just swatted my hand away before throwing it into the backseat. Then off we went too his house. 

Ricky's POV 

Once we made it too my house I grabbed his bag slinging it over my shoulder, not trusting him too not peak in it. Then running towards my house I quickly run upstairs and start too pack my bag throwing everything for the date in there before grabbing my wallet and running back down stairs. Before leaving I quickly write a note too my dad telling him where I would be before throwing both bags over my shoulder, and running back too the car. Once I got too the car I knocked on the driver side window and pointed too the passenger seat. At first he shook his head no, but after using my puppy dog eyes look he finally rolls his eyes at me and moves into the passenger seat. Laughing I jump into the drivers seat and kiss him on the cheek before driving off. 

By the time we made it too the beach we had listened too about every genre of music you could possibly think of. Parking the car I get up and begin walking towards the boardwalk, as we walk towards the beach I notice a booth with paint splattered all over it. Curious I drag Ej over too it and listen too the woman at the booth explain the event they were having today, The Color Run. Smirking at Ej I write both of our names down and thank the lady as she gives us our tags and tells us where and when we have too meet up with the rest of the runners. Nodding my head I smile at her before walking off with Ej as he searches for a good place too eat. Eventually we ended up a small coffee shop a couple blocks away from the starting line, with a ice coffee sitting in front of each of us in the corner of the small coffee shop. 

*Skip too the end of The Color Run*

As  I saw the finish line I looked over at Ej and grinned before bolting towards it. After crossing it I skidded too a stop and looked back too see Ej passing the finish line panting. Laughing I walk over too him and wrap my arms around his neck and smile at him as people begin too hand out metals too all the participants. Once they gave us ours metals I started searching around until I found a sharpie on a near by table, smiling at him I flipped Ej's metal over too the back and started writing on the back "3-19-20, first official date, at the beach" 

Then after signing my metal I did the same on his metal before kissing him on the cheek and wrapping my arms back around his neck. After hangout on the board walk for a little we eventually stop at a small Ice-cream shop hidden between two shops full of small trinkets. Laughing I pull him inside the cold store, smiling at the glass case filled with all different types of ice-cream. Eventually once it was our turn too order we both stepped up too the counter, Ej ordering cookies N' cream, while I ordered Superman. After the cashier gave us our ice-cream I went too go and pay for the sweet treat but Ej playfully pushed me out of the way sliding his card into the card reader. 

Frowning at him I push him back and playfully scowl at him while he just smirks at me. Then grabbing our ice creams we both thank the man before walking out of the shop. Hand in hand we headed down towards the boardwalk till we made it down too the beach. By this time most of the people from the Color Run had left and the waves had settled down, so standing there we looked out at the waves in awe. Without even knowing it we had spent the whole day together, so smiling I held his hand tight as we watched the sun slowly lower in the sky. As we stood there watching the sunset he slowly pulled me towards his chest till my back was resting against him. Smiling I sighed as I watched the sun fall below the water line, then once the light from the sun disappeared we slowly separated. Kissing him on the lips I said " I love you Ej." Before he said "I love you too Ricky, lets go home." Nodding my head I reach out and grab his hand as we head towards the board walk, 'best date, at the beach, ever.'

This chapter took me about a week to finish, I loved the idea of the chapter but it took me forever too finish because I had no motivation too write this chapter. :)
