(24) Ej's Future

Ej's POV

Over the past few weeks Ricky and I have been spending so much time together, that I forget that I have a life after high school. During mid November I had sent out all my applications too about 10 colleges. But going off too college without Ricky didn't seem that simple or even important anymore. I knew that next fall he would be starting his Senior year and I would be off starting my first year at some other school, but that doesn't feel right, not with everything that was currently going on. But it all became real too me when 7 out of the 10 schools I applied too sent back acceptance letters. Reading through all of my options that day I was in shock, but not wanting too deal with it, I set all of the acceptance letter in a bag, where they still sit.

Currently Ricky and I were sitting in his room finishing up homework before we were going too start going over our lines. As I looked up at him I couldn't help but smile, he was laying on his stomach, his tongue sticking out of the side of the his mouth, curls hanging in front his eyes, and light smile traced his face as he tried too do some kind of homework for his math class. Getting sly smile on my face I lean in slowly and quickly grab the papers from in front of him hiding them behind my back. Scowling at me he tries too grab his papers but I just shake my head at him, before throwing them onto the floor, and flipping him around so he was laying on his back with me on top. Smirking at him I lean in for a kiss, but he just turns his head too the side blocking my chance. Sighing I roll my eyes before using one of my hands too turn his head too face me. Then leaning in again I stoll a kiss from him, before smirking at him and rolling off of him so he could finish his homework.

After what it seemed like too be forever, he finally finished his homework. So after throwing his papers onto the floor he turned too me with a smile before crawling next too me and wrapping his arms around my neck, as I gently kissed him. We stayed like that for a couple minutes until we heard a nock on the door. Sighing Ricky pulled away and gave me an apologetic smile before unwrapping himself from my arms too get up and answer the door. Once he opened the door he was greeted by his father who had a worried look on his face. Worriedly Ricky looked back at me before we heard his dad say "Ricky we have too talk about the court arrangement, if you want Ej too stay thats fine with me but I need too talk too you either way." Looking back at me Ricky smiles before saying " Ej can stay". Nodding his head Ricky and his dad come sit on the bed, Ricky next too me, which I quickly wrapped my arm around his waist, and his dad a crossed from us.

Ricky's POV

After sitting down my dad sat there silent until he finally said "So spring break is coming up, so I wanted too talk too you about what will happen. When you get home on that Friday your mom will come and pick you up and either fly back with you too Chicago or drive back, then the Saturday before school starts again you will come back, so you have a day too get ready for school. Nodding my head I acknowledged what he was saying as all this new information swirls around in my mind. It still didn't feel real, leaving Ej and all of my friends but as I've come too realized my opinion on the matter doesn't really matter. So after my dad stopped explain everything I nodded and gave him a forced smile before laying back on my bed. After my dad got the message that I wanted too be alone with Ej for a little, he patted me on the knee before walking out of my room closing the door on the way out.

After he left I decided that today has been eventful enough when it comes too my family, so getting a small smile on my face I wrap my arms around Ej's waist before tackling him down until we are both laying on the bed. Laughing we both share a quick kiss before Ej goes too reach for something in his bag, and pulls out a pile of papers. Then gently he starts too get up, setting me next too him as he starts going through what looks like finished homework and notes, until he stopped. Curious I look at the paper that was at the top of the pile and my face falls. It was a acceptance letter too the university of California, and thats when it dawned on me,
Ej was going too be leaving for college in 6 months. Still in shock from seeing the paper I just hug him and say "I love you, and whatever you want I want." Then he just smiles at me and lays down where my head was resting on his chest while his hand ran through my hair.

Now I know what you are think, "Why would you say that?". But really what was I supposed too say? He had already put parts of his life on pause too be with me, so there is no way that I would allow him too put his schooling and future on pause for me when I don't even know what my future will look like. So with this in my mind I continue too lay there in silence as Ej begins too try and calm me down. Laying there in his arms I sunk into his embrace as he began too hum the song "Beauty and the Beast" quietly too me. Sighing I slowly slip off too sleep, my head laying on his should, and smile on my face. Best way too fall asleep ever.

*I wanted too end this chapter on a good part because let just say that the next couple chapters will not be like this one in a sense. Not saying anything more as too not spoil it but be ready.* (I also want too just take a second too thank all of my readers who've been so patient with me. The truth is I'm a junior in high school and lets just say that high school is not what I expected. I will be MIA in about a week or two because of a competition I will be in, and the fact that we will have no electronics during this comp, so worse comes too worse I will either try too drop a chapter of a book early or just post one once I get back from comp.
