...Stood Aldia.
She had come! But how so soon? My message had just been sent a mere second ago! Startled as I was, I really was in need of rescuing.

Alder revealed himself. He appeared from a doorway I hadn't seem to notice earlier. He stood and took a stance as if he was preparing to charge at us.

But charging would be suicide! No way even a psycho like him would do that!

However, he just wiped off some sweat and charged us.

Aldia grabbed a machine gun from out of her bag. But, instead of pointing it towards him...she pointed it towards me! She loaded it...and fired.

I closed my eyes. My eyes were shut tight as heck for at least 20 seconds until I realized that I was alive.

I opened my eyes...and it appeared that instead of myself, Alder was lying dead a few meters away from me. But how is that even possible? She had clearly pointed it towards ME, not Alder.

Even though a myriad of questions was burning in my mind, I decided not to ask and was just grateful that I was ALIVE in the first place.

After looking at my confused expression, Aldia spoke. "Alder had written in his 'mind chronicle', that any bullet that was fired would hit anyone within the range of 50 feet but the intended target."

I was still confused, "Then how did you know it wouldn't hit you?"

She had a crazy grin on her face, "I didn't. It was just a gamble!" She smiled. I stared at her. I was sort of in shock at the moment. "WHAT?!" I shouted suddenly, "You risked your life on a gamble?!"

She tilted her head, "Well, I'm alive, aren't I? Let's just be grateful about the fact that we're both not dead right now." I chose not to argue with that.

And a while later after hiding Alder's cold and lifeless body, we went back to HQ.
