Perspective of: Daya
Present Day
With excitement, my eyes pop wide open. I hurriedly sat up on the bed, grabbing my phone.
"Good morning;)" A text popped up on my screen.
My heart melted, a huge smile plastered on my face. Kaidan Akana, my boyfriend. It's been a whole week since we've been dating but I still feel as if I was on cloud 9. I'm literally living the dream.
"Morning;)" I replied to the text immediately turning it over in embarrassment.
"I need to calm down." I muttered to myself, breathing in and out slowly.
Ding!
My phone went off and with a blink of an eye it was in my hand again.
"Hey whores!!" May texted in a new group chat, my smile fading.
May, Julian, Kaidan, and I all in the same chat? What did she want this time? And where the hell even is she? She's not even in the dorm.
"What is this chat for?" I asked.
"A double date!" She responded. I could almost here her high-pitched squeal through the screen.
"Says who?" I wrote rolling my eyes.
"Says me." Kaidan finally joined the conversation.
"Let's do it. It'll be fun." He continued on.
"Perfect! I'll book a table at La Plaque D'émeraude!" May replied.
"First up, fancy. Second, where the hell are you?" I asked her expecting to her to say she's with Julian.
"I saw her sneak into Julian's room this morning." Kaidan replied.
"Stop telling my business." I could see May rolling her eyes at the screen.
"Daya, we will be going shopping. See you guys tonight at 8PM!"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." I replied then set my phone down, finally getting ready for the day.

"We're hereee!" May exclaimed in front of the store.
She once again dragged me out of the dorm, this time taking me to the mall. Fancy restaurant, fancy clothes I guess. I can't lie, I was super excited. Good food, new clothes, a date, AND no classes. It's the best day ever.
"We need to look rich and sexy. As if we have rich daddies that spoil us with their money. Got it?" May's preppy voice echoed.
"Got it." I nodded then marched into the store.
My eyes widen as I see hundreds of dresses. Some laced while others sparkled. Long dresses, short dresses. They were all beautiful. Thank the universe I got a bonus at work this month.
After about 45 minutes of shifting through thousands of dresses and trying on hundreds, we had finally picked out the perfect ones.
May picked out a long gold satin dress that framed her body perfectly. She then picked out some clear stiletto heels matching it with an earring and necklace set.
I chose to wear a dark blue long v-neck dress with a high thigh slit. I then bought some black open toe heels and a new necklace.
"On to the nails!" May grabbed my hand leading me out the store.
"Finally! I could use a good pedicure." I laughed, skipping along with her.
"Daya.." Her voice suddenly dropped.
