Two Weeks Later

"Beep beep. Beep beep."

"Uhh.." I groaned turning off the infuriating alarm.
Maybe I should sleep in awhile, just a minute or two longer.

"BUZZ BUZZ! BUZZ BUZZ!"

You've gotta be kidding me. Aggressively, I grab my phone answering the call.
"WHAT?"

"We're you just sleeping? DAYA! Do you even remember what today is?" May's voiced echoed through the phone.

"Girl, what are you ta- SHIT! What time is it?"

"It's 7:30! I'm right outside your building!"

"Okay, okay I'll see you in a bit." I then hung up, stumbling into the bathroom.

Fuck why am I like this. My own graduation and I can't even be on time. Nail appointment at 8, hair appointment at 12, make up at 3, graduation at 6, and a mini party right after. A full day of planning ahead of me.

"Day! I seriously can't believe you right now!" I heard my front door open, followed with May's nagging.

"I'm seriously regretting giving you my spare key!" I yelled out to her.

"And look at this mess, you still have all these boxes all over the place." Her nagging continued.

"Ugh, you sound just like my mom right now." I walked out the bathroom walking toward her.
"I've only been here for about a week. I've just been too busy."

Its true. Moving in has been such a hassle. Between getting my things from mom's house to finding good jobs for when I get my degree, I've barely been able to get any free time. Hence all the unopened boxes in my apartment.

"My poor baby, you've been so stressed lately." May opened her arms wide, wrapping them around me.

"You really are ready for this mother role, huh?" I chuckled a bit.

"I've been ready. I'm already showing and now everyone keeps staring! It's infuriating." She let me go, showing off her little baby bump.

I've completely forgot how much I missed her. Don't get me wrong I LOVED my apartment. A beautiful kitchen that flowed into a spacious living room, the white marble bathroom with a big shower, my comfy bedroom with a mini closet, and a balcony to top it off. The apartment itself made me happy. But there were times where it was too quiet, no nagging or yelling of any sort.

May had of course moved in with Julian, Kaidan getting his own apartment closer to the city. Everyone's been busy with their own lives and getting everything ready for the future. I knew the real world would be stressful, but damn, I didn't think it would be THIS difficult.

"They're only staring because of how gorgeous you look." I laughed feeling her bump.

"Oh, I know." She said confidence flashing her brightest smile.
"But that's besides the point. Go take a quick a shower, Nia still has our nail appointment set for 8."

"Yes ma'am!" I rushed back into the bathroom, quickly jumping into the shower.

After about a ten minute shower, we hopped into May's car, rushing over to get our nails done.

May went for an long pink coffin set with glitter and lots of gems and jews. I went for a long white coffin set with a bit of rhinestones on the ring finger. This was definitely hurting my bank account but it's they're sooo pretty.

Next, we drove to a local salon to get our wig installments. May getting a long and straight black lace, me getting a medium black loose wave.

After our installments, we stopped to get some quick food. Then, quickly rushing back into the salon, ready to do our makeup. Both May and I going for a soft glam look.

After finally completing everything, we drove over to the school auditorium and met with the guys backstage. They looked so good in their suites. Julian wearing a black and white tux with a matching dress shoes. Kaidan wore a navy blue tux, styling his hair in that same messy mullet look.

Before we could even walk over to them, we were quickly rushed into grabbing our robes and before I knew it we were seated at the front row waiting for our degrees.

"Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cassidy Adams." The announcer spoke, the crowd cheering.

Suddenly my phone silently buzzed.
"Never got the chance to tell you how gorgeous you look:(" I read a text from Kaidan.

Looking around I saw his gaze without any trouble, his small smile melting my heart.
"Shouldn't you be paying attention? Your name's gonna get called soon." I texted back with a small giggle.

"Wish me luck then." He texted back, a wide smile plastered on his face.

"Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Kaidan Akana." The announcer then called out his name.

Cheering for him as loud as I could, I watched him walk up the stage, grab his degree and shake the professors hands. Yes, including Mr. Blackwell. Awkward, I know.

As time and time went by, more and more names got called out....

"Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Julian Ortiz."

More loud clapping, smiles, and cheers....

"Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, May Washington."

Until finally,

"Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Daya Martin."

Like music to my ears. With the widest smile plastered across my face, I marched into the stage finally grabbing my hard earned degree.

Shaking all the professor's hand, hearing my family and friends all cheer for me. The best feeling ever.

I finally graduated.
