I paced around the kitchen waiting for Ash to come back. I wrung my wrists before sitting down at the table.
"Waiting for someone Sweetheart?" Ash's dark cloud surrounded me before he solidified behind me.
I spun out of the chair to face him. There was blood on his face, but it wasn't black.
"Where did you go?" I asked as he cleaned the silver off his face, "Who just stops a story like that and decides he wants to leave!?"
"Sweetheart, forgive me!" He threw out his arms dramatically and tilted his head back, "I didn't realize you missed me so much! Please come and give the man you love a hug!"
My face was unamused as I glared him down.
"No? No hug for this poor ruffian who simply needs a hug from a kind being?"
"Don't be such drama king."
His flung out his hands as dramatically as he could and hung his head as he walked past me to toss his body onto the couch.
"Oh, whatever will I do? My sweetheart no longer loves me!"
"Whoever said I loved you is a bigger liar than you are."
"Oh, Dark Lady! The truth! It hurt more than the arrow you have just shot through my heart!"
I rolled my eyes at his dramatics.
"Why did you have angel's blood on your face?"
"Weeks of broken silence and now the questions won't stop! How my sweetheart has changed!"
"Oh, sweet Ladies of the earth and heavens, how do I shut him up?"
He jumped up and grasped my hands in his with sorrow covering his face.
"Please, Lavana! Let me take you out! Let me make this up to you! I by no means have forgotten your beautiful face! Allow me to take you to the human lands! There's a club I must go to! We should go to it today! Allow me to take you there so you can have some fun! We can even stop at my friend's place so you can get some clothes!"
I glared at him.
"Is this just an elaborate plan for me to stop snooping and cleaning your house?" the words flat as Ash tensed in front of me.
"...No?"
"Why do you have to check on the demons?" I asked as I saw right through him.
Ash dropped his hands as his usual grin appeared.
"It's a part of what we do. I have to make sure everything's going well."
"What exactly do the demons down there do?" the curiosity filled the room as he bared his teeth at me.
"Oh sweetheart, wouldn't you like to know?"
"Yes," I flung my arms out exasperated, "That is why I asked Ash."
"Fair enough." He shrugged, "How about it then?"
"How about..." My hands moved to have him continue, "What?"
His booming laugh echoed out into the room.
"Lavana, you're going love this."
He was quick to grab me. I tensed as he pulled me into his arms.
"We're getting drunk tonight!"
"Wait what-"
The world vanished into a cold black cloud of smoke.
