My voice was flat as I began to explain the details of the soul's fate but stopped when Lavana reached out to envelope the soul with her hands. She closed her eyes and I followed suit as a bright light flashed out. I bit back my remarks as I opened my eyes to see a small child on the ground trying his best to stand up. He was struggling with his unaccustomed light body.

I withheld my sigh as Lavana bent down to help the poor child. The child began crying but it left me unfazed. Lavana however, reached out to hold the child and whisper calm nothings to calm it down.

We weren't supposed to interact with newly formed souls before the angels were able to. I wanted to pull her away, to rip her off the child and scold her for what she did without an angel present. Did she not realize that we would have to deal with the angels later for what she's doing? But I didn't, instead, I smiled softly at the two as she finally managed to soothe the child into silence. Lavana held hands with the young boy as she began to lead us away.

I blinked when I saw a halo over her head. It was gone in an instant. I bit my cheek. Lavana was sure to be an angel. But I couldn't help but think about myself and my own fate. She was going to receive a halo and white feathered wings... Would I get the same?

I turned to look at the red and orange hues covering the sky. It looked like the sky was being consumed by flames. With our own ceremony now only but a few days away, I wondered if this sky would be the only thing that was consumed by flames. Something in me told me it wouldn't be.

I ignored the feeling as the weight of my future felt heavy on my shoulders as I finally turned away to follow the future angel.
