"Stop! Put your guns down. They're my parents!" Lil made her way to Fred.

"What?" Steve raised his eyebrows in surprise.

"Their legs are all tied up, they can't move further than that" Lil said as everyone noticed the iron chains around the legs of both the zombies.
"Who even keeps zombies in the house as pets?" Fred tried to calm down as the male and the female zombies kept growling. Tabitha's mind immediately went to the Shaun Of the Dead where the ending consisted of a new concept of pet zombies. It usually happens when you can't let go of someone.

"Hey they're my parents okay? I can't just leave them behind. Afterall they aren't completely dead" Lil inhaled "I introduce you to Ryan and Allison Forbes"
Allison had the most beautiful blonde hairs just like Lil, and I guess that's what attracted Ryan to her in her college days.

"Okay so...you don't really expect us to actually wave and say hi to them...so can we get back to work?" Fred managed to say something as Kimberly tried not to look weak.

"Yeah sure, I just have to free them before we leave since I'm not coming back this time" Lil started opening the door to let everyone out first.
She unlocked the chains once everyone was out. Once someone turns into a Rotteye zombie, they as good as animals. Lil very well knew that the goodbye this time, was the final one. Feeding Alison and Ryan while they were at home waiting for fresh meat and growling at their human daughter was traumatizing. Letting them free to graze meat in their own never guaranteed their lives but it did guarantee a natural death and a conclusion to their story.

While the trail was walking away, Lil turned around to give one final look at her tree house and the two zombies walking away in different direction. It was her home afterall.
Bye bye sweet home.

"Leaving already?" Gretta opened the window of her tree house and peeped down with her twins.

"Already? Twenty months of apocalypse doesn't seem much to you?" Lil laughed at her only neighbour.
Lil and Gretta have always been the perfect neighbours, away from the costal crowd and dominance. In past several months, Gretta has been the only consistent human in Lil's life. If something ever used to remind either of them about humanity, it was the the time they spent together bringing up Crash and Eddie, Gretta's twins.

"Ha-ha, good luck girl! Have a great life" Gretta and her twins waved at Lil emotionally.
"We will miss you!" Crash and Eddie sang in the harmony.

While waving awkwardly and politely at the stranger woman who's a mother of two Kim whispered to Lil "Why don't you ask her to tag along?"

"Trust issues. Not with me but y'all and this stupid mission. She will not step out of Rotteye until she's a hundred percent sure" Lil sighed.
Gretta has two kids, the things she has witnessed as a single mother are horrifying. It'll take more than five people and an absurd mission to get her out of Rotteye.

Few miles away

In the walk, there was a kind of awkwardness in the air, like the smell of guilt and sympathy.
"If it's about my parents then save it" Like rolled her eyes. She's had enough time during the apocalypse to figure out all the ways she could say goodbye and move on when the time comes. Infact that's all she ever had to think of.  Zombism may be an end to many but it wasn't for Lil and she's grateful for all the time she could spend with her parents even after everything went down.
"Just keep your eyes wide open. I need you guys to focus on every single thing moving around you" Lil declared.

"We can't just do that! I mean, literally everything moves, we cant keep acting hooyah for every single movement " Kim sighed.

"Still don't understand why the hell is she brought here" Lil rolled her eyes.

"Because she knows about that ...Alleye place better than any of us,we had no idea we'd find someone like you on the way. We needed someone who was familiar with the city" Steven explained

"Yeah-yeah we were in the same school and shit but I absolutely hated her, same goes in the present tense" Lil coughed
"So that's all she's here for? A real life map?"

"What do you mean by that's it?" Kim burst in.

"He tried to defend you,to sound like you really are important" Fred sarcastically rose his shoulders as Kim made a disgusting face.

The chit-chat was carried on until they finally spotted the church. They spotted a few zombies on their way, none could stop them though. Steve and Lil only had to use their basic moves.

The church has this beautiful light paint on its perfectly finished corners. It's sloping too was a work of fine art which now looked nothing more than a pile of purple dump from a distance. The structure didn't seem very promising as it looked like it might crumble down any moment but it doesn't seem to bother Lil much.

"This is it, we split up. We're looking for an old guy in white cloths, he probably still has his glasses on, and yeah...he's a red head. Also, Steve and I are heading for cemetery, you guys look here. Kim, go to that corner, it's safer" Lil started walking away with Steve.

"Can't argue, can we?" Fred lightly mumbled looking at Tabith and Kim but neither of them could interpret what he said as they made a conical face.

Kim went looking behind the huge welcome doors when suddenly something grabbed her from behind.
"Ahhhhh help me!!" Kim shouted as she pushed the blood thirsty zom away.

"You found him, I knew it! Uncle John loves a bait" Lil was really happy about her achivement. It was a growling, half dead but still alive John, his eyes were red with hunger and his glasses were still hanging on his muddy white lab coat.

"Seriously? You used me as a bait? And how's he your uncle?" Kim said, brushing the dust off her.

"I'm probably gonna ignore the apology part so ah basically I just used a booster for our treasure hunt"

"By pushing me in his mouth"

"Well, he's my uncle. Introducing Dr. John Forbes" Lil held John on the ground below her shoes while Tabitha looked for the keys in his pocket.

"What?! No way! John, George and Ryan are all...." Fred's mouth was wide open.

"Look, my dad had nothing to do with his stupid sibling's stupid experiments. He was just an accountant" Lil kicked the poor little zombie to stay still.

"Im gonna faint" Fred sighed.

"Found it" Tabitha took the keys and got away from the zom as soon as possible.

Suddenly Lil took out a gun.
"Goodbye John" she said as she shot her uncle. Then bent down to get her uncle and started dragging him out.

"What do you think you're doing?" Kim asked.

"Well, I never leave my dead family behind. I gotta bury him, or more specifically, we gotta bury him" Lil pointed on her left.

"No way I'm going to a cemetery with a dead zombie " Kim smiled her worst smile.

Luckily, they did not find any zombie at the cemetery either, it did seem a little unusual. But it just made their work easier.
They dug the ground and buried the dead body as fast as they could.

"OMG....Lil..." Tabitha said as she tapped on Lil's shoulder.

All of them turned around in a sync and witnessed a herd of several zombies quietly quietly heading towards them.

"I think we've got a little problem here" Lil sighed.
