Bloody Hell

Chapter 29: Why?

"hello Steve" Aron said, rather dangerously.

"Oh great everyone's here! Welcome everybody" George said in a friendly manner.

"Aren't you that piece of shit who is the reason behind this Bloody Hell?" Maria stepped in.

"That's one way to describe this man" Aron shrugged.

"Let's finish him"
"Kill him and the boy"
"What are we waiting for"
"They deserve no mercy"
"Tear them apart!"
"You killed my family!"
"Burn in hell!"

All the pain and all the sorrow was being portrayed by the crowd. Their aggression was totally acceptable, the one answer to all the cries was this one man "George Forbes" who was standing there with someone completely unexpected on his side.

"Calm down everybody!" Maria settled the crowd.

"Steve? I thought ...you were better than this" Michael sighed.

"You bet? Really, why is this so surprising? Why can't I be the villain?" Steve said.

"Because-... because you weren't one.." Lil said in a soft tone. What was she even thinking when she heard him in the AV room? That he'd explain? There was nothing to explain. That would've been one of George's strategies in order to get Lil out of the room.

"That's the thing, I was. And you were wrong. I had the immune serum too, just like Harold" Steve chuckled.

The crowd was barely calm now.

"It really does seem like someone else is speaking" Kim whispered to Maria.

"Sure thing, that isn't him, it can't be"  Maria replied. Just like everyone, she knew that Steve never seemed like a traitor.

"Just one question George...." Gretta wiped her tears "why?"
As soon as the question left her mouth, the crowd completely stopped growling. Everybody was waiting for an answer to this question.
All of them deserved an answer....Sarah deserved an answer.

"Well..." George cleared his throat "I wanted to do something remarkable, I've always thought of myself as an extraordinary human and I saw some part of my genius mind in Lil. She was different, even before I experimented on her. Lil my girl, you had the potential to be powerful. But duh, terrible turn of events....when I saw that she didn't show much of the changes, I took her blood for further advancement and finally...created a zombie. The greatest invention of mankind. Four different human species"

"Those aren't species, those are literally animals! You set them free in the town!" Luke shouted.

"Charlie knew, didn't he? That's why you started pushing him away from the lab. You fucki-...you lied to me! You lured me, you tricked me to get on your table so you could experiment on my body! God! George you're sick! I feel sorry for you!" Lil spotted in his direction.

"He even killed his own brother" someone in the crowd said.

"Good point! But not actually brother... brothers I must say" George put on his glasses "What happened to Ryan was that he was a victim of the apocalypse but John...oh the other hand, was pushed by me"

"You tricked my father too? Because he felt guilty at the end?" Linda said. Yeah, technically she's John's daughter.

"You're the bloody coward George!"

As the crowd began rushing towards him, George raised his hand "zombies listen to me and now, I command them to attack all of you"

The plunic was now fading away.

"Run! Everybody!" Maria shouted as the crowd went crazy. The rush began..
George was standing still with Steve, watching the fear, everybody is carrying right now.
