14: comp. pt2

a/n: billy poco came out yesterday HAGAHJEW enhypen stays killing every concept. now i'm just waiting for a studio version of chamber 5 TT. also, imagine Sunghoon in the olympics for figure skating... i cry. || currently it is 210828 and thank you for getting this 7th in "yangjungwon"!!

"Next to skate, we have Park Sunghoon!" 

Sunghoon stepped out onto the ice, preparing himself to skate. Choon Hee whispered to herself, "I know you can do it Sunghoon." Jungwon looked at her an blinked a bit, hearing her words of encouragement to her friend. 

Endless cheering and screaming came from the other side of the audience. Eventually it came to silence as the music began. 

Choon Hee listened to the song in silence, carefully listening to his blades guiding through the ice. He must be doing well. She thought as people applauded.

"Here are the winners of the 2021 Summer Figure Skating Competition." The audience sat in silence, waiting for the answers. 

"Coming 3rd we have Lee Sujin!" The audience cheered for her. Choon Hee sat waiting for Sunghoon's name to be called. Jungwon was also curious on who would win. 2nd place was announced and the two kept waiting. 

"Finally, the winner of the 2021 Summer Figure Skating Competition is," Everyone was tense and in silence. 

"Park Sunghoon!" Cheering and clapping happened all at once. Choon Hee stayed put although she was very happy inside. Jungwon applauded beside her and turned to her. "He really is good isn't he." She nodded in return.

The competition then came  to an end and the crowd slowly cleared out. Sunghoon walked over to Choon Hee with a grin on his face. He saw Jungwon next to her and tilted his head a bit. 

"Jungwon?" The two looked over at the skater. "Sunghoon!" She stood up making Jungwon watch carefully again. They walked towards him, "See? I knew you'd do great!" Choon Hee said as she hugged Sunghoon. Jungwon looked at the two in shock. His face was stern and he blinked, looking away. Choon Hee stepped back and smiled. Sunghoon smiled back and thanked her. He looked over at Jungwon making him confused again, "Wait, this was the friend you were talking about?" 

Jungwon looked back and grinned, "Yep, did she not tell you?" "I did, but I guess I forgot to tell him it was you.", Choon Hee helped reply. "You two already know each other?", the girl continued. "We're acquaintances, we bumped into each that one night remember?" Sunghoon replied. "I'm shocked you remember that, you didn't even talk." Jungwon added. 

There was an awkward silence between the three of them till Jay, Jake and Ji-yeon came. 

"Hey, all of us are finally together." Jake said, putting his arm around Sunghoon's shoulders. "Jaeyun, guys, thanks for coming!" Sunghoon said smiling at his friends, "and you are?" He asked looking at the girl next to them. "Oh hi, I'm Ji-yeon, Jungwon's sister. Nice to meet everyone." 

Jungwon didn't realize the fact that he was glaring at Sunghoon. "Jungwon, are you ok?" Jay asked. He then flinched and replied, "Oh yeah, I'm just tired that's all." Jay nodded, "Ok we're gonna head out, Choon Hee are you coming now or," "Can I stay a bit longer?" "Sure, but who's taking you home?" Jungwon quickly spoke up, "I can! Well, Ji-yeon can take us, right?" he said with a pleading face towards his sister. "Yeah I can stay back a while." Jay and Jake then left.

Sunghoon's facial expression changed, gritting his teeth. "I'm going to the car to rest for a bit, text me when you guys are done." Ji-yeon said walking away. "You didn't have to offer a ride you know, I was planning on taking her home anyways." Sunghoon said looking at the bleachers. "It's ok Sunghoon, you must be tired from today, you need to rest." Choon Hee said. Sunghoon's face softened as he sighed, "Ok, I'll listen to you, hope to see you this weekend?" "Yep!" 

He eventually left the two and walked out. Jungwon looked over to the girl and tilted his head. "You care for him a lot don't you?" She looked at him in return, "I do, I want to be a good friend to him." Jungwon nodded his head, "I hope you know I care for you a lot as well." He held her hands, standing in front her her, face to face. 

Choon Hee's heart was skipping beats, he can't hear that, can he?

"Choon Hee, I want to stay with you forever. I never want to leave you." The girl looked down, face hot. She then looked up, "Why are you saying these things?" The boy wasn't sure why he said those words all of a sudden either. "I just wanted to let you know, before anyone else does."

Choon Hee's POV:

I was feeling so many things at the time. I was confused as well, does he like me? Or am I overthinking it? Am I the only one he's said this too?

"Yang Jungwon, have you said these things to anyone else? Just wondering." I turned my head away in embarrassment. "Nope, you're the only one. You're also the only one I'd say those things to." I smiled hearing those words. He then placed my hands to cup his cheeks. I laughed a bit, "What are you doing?" "This shows that I'm yours."

My heart was beating so fast, I was worried he'd hear it. I was still confused, not knowing what to feel, so I decided to playfully ask him. So that if his answer is otherwise, I won't make a fool of myself. 

"Why do you keep saying these things, it's almost as if you like me or something." I laughed it off. My heart was beating faster as I was nervous. 

"What if I did?" He replied with a chuckle. Is he serious? I couldn't tell if he was playing along or not. I let my hands off his face and tilted my head.

"Why, do you like me?" He added. What was I supposed to say? Could this be the end of our friendship? I don't want that.

"I was joking, please don't give me that worried face again, it's scares me." He chuckled. 

He was joking. A weight came of my shoulders but at the same time it hurt a bit.
